| Chapter Nineteen Lucky and Nikolas forgot about the lake with Robin and Em. Laura talked the teens into just sticking around the house. Robin was in the kitchen with Laura when she asked. Mrs. Spencer? What is going on? she asked. Laura played the tape for her. Robin looked at Laura in shock. I understand why you didnt want us to go too far. Robin said. You might want to give this to Uncle Mac. He could do something about this. I asked Jason and he told me to do nothing right now. Caines son and Kermit are cops. They will be arriving late tonight. I will ask them what they think and if they say to turn it over then I will, but until then. Robin, please keep this between us. All Right? Laura said. Robin agreed only because Jason said to keep it to themselves for awhile. Robin went to find Nikolas who was pushing Lu on the swing. How are you doing? she asked. Laura played the tape? he asked. Yes. I dont know. I just learned my uncle is my father and now Im hiding at the Spencers home because it isnt safe at my own. Robin, what would you do in my position? he asked. I was but unlike you I learned the truth at a young age. My grandmother raised me, and my mother acted as a family friend. I found all of this after being kidnapped and dropped off at my fathers front door. Robin said. You forgave them for lying? Nikolas asked. Yes. They did it to protect me and my father didnt even know about me. Nikolas, parents do things that dont seem right at the time, but the do have our best interest at heart. We just have to learn to accept that. Robin told him. I will try but it isnt going to be easy. I understand why Laura lied. She told my about the threats my father made to her and that is what bothers me the most. He told me one thing and turned around and did something else. Nikolas said. Robin didnt know what to say. She just wrapped her arms around him and watched Lu play on the swing set. While Nikolas and Robin were talking, Lucky was trying to learn Caines lessons. He stood trying to figure out where Caine was standing by the sounds around him. Emily watched trying not to laugh. Caine was on one side and Lucky kept on picking the exact opposite. Finally, Lucky spoke up and said. You think you can do this better. You try it. Lucky asked Caine to blind fold Emily and see what she could do. Emily didnt do any better. When she removed the blind fold she asked. So that is what it is like to be you? No. I cant do what you did and remove the problem to see again. he said sadly. I didnt mean it that way Lucky. I just never thought about it before. she said. I know and neither did I until all of this. Em, I miss her and dont know what to do about it, he said. You will for along time. I still miss my mother and part of me always will. I learned that you cant change things. The only thing you can do is move on and that is hard sometimes. You will find a way Lucky. I know it. It is just going to take time. Lizzie meant a lot to you but dont shut out everyone out, because when youre ready. We might not be around, she said. Ill try but give me time. It is just a little to soon for anything right now. Lucky said. Caine watched the group of teens with a strange look on his face, but something caught his attention. Sonny and Jason pulled up in the Spencers driveway. Lucky asked Em. Who is it? Sonny and Jason. she said. Emily helped guide him to the driveway. Sonny watched the two with sad look on his face. Jason asked, Whats wrong? The reality just hit me. Jason, I never thought this could happen to Lucky. Out of everything that could have happen. Lucky becoming blind never crossed my mind. Sonny said. Hi, Sonny. Jason. I guess I dont have to ask what brings you here. Lucky said coming closer. Your mother called and told us about the tape. We just stopped by to see if everything is all right and wait for Caines help to arrive. We talked to your father and he wants to know what Kermit thinks before doing anything. Sonny said heading into the house. He fought the impulse to help him up the steps, but Lucky moved really good with the help of the cane. Sonny noticed Caine watching him. I wonder what the old man thinks of me. Sonny thought. Luke said he was a little strange. Chapter 20 Go back to Angel Lends a Helping Hand! |
