Lea Ann has always been an outstanding athlete. In high school and college she excelled! Then on February 6, 2002 an amazing goal was accomplished. She won a Silver Medal in the womens Skeleton in Salt Lake City winter Olympics. She is living the life of any athletes dream! It would not have even mattered if you came home with a medal or not...just the mere fact that you competed in the worlds most popular event makes us PROUD here in this small village of Granville, Ohio USA! Congratulations on your accomplishment Lea Ann! We are ALL SO PROUD!

Here are the steps you need to take to make the U.S. Skeleton Team: Skeleton is an individual Olympic sport, so each athlete needs both the push skills and the driving skills. Skeleton athletes are chosen for the US National Team in a similar manner as bobsled drivers. Years of driving experience are required before an athlete will make the US Skeleton National Team. Prospective skeleton athletes need to: Be at lease 18 years old and in good physical condition. Join the US Bobsled & Skeleton Federation as an athlete member. Train for the 4 item test. Plan to take the 4 item test and compete in the 2001 National Push Championships. Become introduced to skeleton through the domestic skeleton program or as a recreational participant. Selection to the domestic program will depend on your 4 item test scores and your performance at the 2001 National Push Championships
