Lea Ann was named Ohio Firefighter of the year in 1999 after helping rescue a woman and her 14 year old wheelchair bound daughter from their burning house. Lea Ann has been a member of the Granville Volunteer Fire Department since 1985, and a full time paid firefighter in New Albany, Ohio since 1995. In 1998 Lea Ann placed third in Skeleton in a regional race in Altenberg, and also in 1998 finished second in Skeleton in the Austrian Championships in Igls. In 1999 she took fifth at the World Cup event in Calgary, and placed fourth in 1999 at the Nagano World Cup competition. In 2000 Lea Ann won silver in the Lillehammer World Cup, finished fourth in the Worl Cup event in Winterberg, placed sixth at the World Championships in Igls, Austria, finished fourth in the Goodwill games in Lake Placid, NY, took the silver at the U.S. National Championship in Park City, and placed fourth at North American Championships held in Park City, Utah. Finally on February 6, 2002, Lea Ann took the SILVER MEDAL in the winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah!
