About Leah Chilcote
I thought that I would dedicate a page to telling you a little bit about myself. My name is Leah Chilcote, and I am a 27-year-old stay at home mommy. I have two boys; Bryce, 9, and Tanner, 4.
I was born and raised in the Mt. Baker area, and I have lived in my home for six years with my husband, Steve, who is in college to become a police officer. YEAH! No more logging for him.
We are members at River of Life Church on Highway 9, and have been involved with youth groups. We spend a lot of time taking our oldest son to soccer, baseball, and other things of interest.
I have been doing childcare for 9 years; ever since my son Bryce was born. I became licensed in August of 1998, and currently continue my education yearly as part of Washington State's regulations. I have my degree in early learning Childhood education.
I have always wanted to work with children. I think it is because my mother taught special education at Mt. Baker school for 18 years. She taught 3 year olds to 19 year olds.
This year, 2002, I have taken a more professional approach to my job since now my husband is in college full-time. I now need an income to pay bills as before I did childcare for a 2nd income and just to have children come over and play & learn. I spend most of my time learning with the children and trying to establish a better environment for everyone who comes to my home. Child friendly and adult friendly.
I love my family, home, and job. I love all the children that I have cared for (I've been so luck to have such great kids) HeeHee. I hope now you know a piece of who I am now, and to let you know that of course I left out all my grunts and groans about myself. So I'm not a perfect person, but I LOVE my job as a childcare provider.
Thanks,
Leah Chilcote
