INTRODUCTION TO LEADHEADx2

Greetings, and welcome to the website home of leadheadx2, alias Mark. The original intent of this website in 1997 was not to toot my horn, but rather to give insight as to what made this pup tick.

This website originally started as a simple homepage. Around 1995 I stumbled across a law enforcement chat forum while surfing the net. That forum was one of a large variety sponsored by a server known as WBS. Through the Law Enforcement Forum I came into contact with many wonderful people. Participants in the forum, American and international, included active and retired law enforcement personnel, as well as aspiring LE folk, emergency services workers, and friends of law enforcement. As a member of WBS I was afforded file space and a homepage. I took advantage of both, first as a means of explaining the nickname, and secondarily as a means of giving a short biography. As has so often been the case in the dot com world, WBS was purchased by another server. They soon pared down the forums, and the Law Enforcement Forum was one of the first to go. They still afforded space for my homepage, but my first edit resulted in the loss of my original web address. As a result, my address link from other internet sites and search engines was broken. Through those original links I heard from past members of the Plainfield Police, as well as many others who found my page. In 2001 the server reorganized, they eliminated homepage services and I received my walking papers. That was a hidden blessing, as it motivated me to update, expand to a full website, and to establish my own dot com identity.

In 2006 I retired from the Plainfield Police Division, in the City of Plainfield, New Jersey, retiring as a Captain, after 26 years of servvice. Plainfield is a small city in central N.J. with a population of around 50,000, generating @ 52,000 calls for police service per year. To put it quite simply, if it is to be seen in police work, it will be seen in Plainfield.

By the time you have read this far, you should have discovered that there is music embedded into this page. Some purists in web design argue that one should not do so, however I have received positive feedback from visitors, and since I enjoy it, I do it. If you are at work, and the music might be disturbing to othersespecially the boss, or if you just prefer to surf without music, you should mute your sound, as each page is embedded. You may also stop the sound by hitting the stop button on the small console that appears at the top of each page, just above the the name of the music selection. If you enjoy the music, you will find the selections I have used on my music page. There you will also find other selections listed, as well as information on midi files.

So, kick your feet up, settle back, make yourself at home, and tour around the site. I especially encourage any Plainfield Police veterans to contact me, even if you have done so in the past. We are attempting to develop a data base for the PBA, as well as a PBA Website that I am currently working on. I hope you get some enjoyment from the visit, and you are welcome to drop me an e-mail with any comments or suggestions, or make a note in the guestbook on the Epilogue page.
