My Life Started
Hi! My real name is Lea Alday Hernandez. You can call me "Lea" but for my closest friends they simply call me "Lhey". My name Lea which means pasture, it is kind of
grassland which reflect to my personality as a cool and simple person. That's my basic idea about my name.
I was born under the sign of Scorpio. We are 10 children from our loving parents Mr. Sebastian S. Hernandez and
Mrs. Perceveranda A. Hernandez both from Batangas, Philippines. I
have 5 brothers and 4 sisters, (what a big family!!!) and I am the third from the last member of the
family. Batangas belongs to Tagalog Region. You can find
lots of tourist spots there such as beaches and man made parks which foreigners love to go during
summer vacations. There are lovely places too and lots of native foods. Lanzones
is one of my favorite fruits that can be found only in Batangas. If I say that
I'm a Batanguena, the first impression of other was normally to be afraid
because they thought I might be carrying a knife (Balisong) which is famous in
Batangas. However, I can claim that a Batanguena is more hospitable than other
Filipinos although Filipinos are known to be very hospitable people in this
world.
From the age of ten until I finished highschool, I grew up under the care of my
grandparents. That's why I did not enjoy my childhood and early teens because of
my very strict grandmother who used to remind me always to go home after my
classes without accepting any reasons if I came home late. But inspite of that I
thanked her a lot for being with me during my adolescent period. Every end of
school year I spent my days with my family, which I considered as a wonderful
time in my whole life. I enjoyed a lot during my stay with them. Although we belong to a middle
class family, we worked and play together and we grew up with full of respect for
one another. After my highschool days, my grandparents sent me back home, which was
really good for me. During my college days, I developed my personality and
became more like a lady under the care of my two elder brothers. They used to
monitor my daily life but they were both understanding and considerate when it
comes to my personal needs. They really tried to protect me and at the same time
trusted me with the way I handled myself, they were always there to guide, to
remind and to advise me that I have to finish my studies. I encountered lots of
challenges in life when I was in college but I had no choice but to solve and
face them. With the help of our Almighty God and my family, I completed my
college education.
Teacher as a profession is not that easy for me. I did
teach but sad to say only for one year. However, that one year were one of my memorable
experience of my life for I was able to share my knowledge to all of my students. But then, God had another
plan for me and so in December 1993, I gave up my profession as a teacher and went Dubai.
As a private tutor was my first job in Dubai but it takes me only for almost a year,
maybe because teaching is not my interest that time. I went back to Philippines after a year of working in Dubai for personal reason,
and so in May 1995, I made a decision which I realize, to be a big mistake in my whole life. How I wish that I can go back in life and live again.
But thereafter, like what others say...life must go on, so in March 1997, I decided again to go back to Dubai for many reasons.
I tried for another job which was not related to my profession. I
got job in sales industry. Having worked in sales industry, which is a full
service industry has helped me develop excellent communication skills and
customer-relation. This lasted for two years in company called Konica Corporation-Middle East.
I resigned from KCME in February 1999 to work for Royal Blinds as a Secretary/Receptionist.
I am still working with Royal Blinds, a job which I know in my heart was a gift from God.
Me, as a person, aside from being simple others see me as
clever, organized in life but modest, someone who takes chances and enjoys an
adventure, not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily but someone
who's extremely loyal to the friends I make and who expect the same loyalty in
return. Those who really get to know me realize it takes a lot to shake my trust
to my friends and equally it takes me a long time to get over something if that
trust is broken. But I considered my self to be a sincere, friendly and down to earth person.
My Hobbies & Interest
I love listening to music, watching films (but not boring ones) I love to watch actions and love stories,
reading, go to some places with cool atmosphere and Internet surfing. I spend
most of the time to my work and to my PC which I really want to gain more experience and
to learn more!!!
My Plans
Plans? To go around the world, (huh!) to continue helping my family financially, extend my youngest brother's education like what my older brothers and sisters did for me. And yet, I have so many plans in my life...I knew that at my age, this is the right time (it's already late!) to raise my own family but I'll just let the time decide for me when. Anyway guys, I'll keep you posted.*hEhEhE*
