What is there to say? "The Prophecy of the Stones" will blow away anyone who reads it. (Ooh, "say," "away"-I hate it when stuff rhymes like that accidentally). This book was written by a fourteen (yes, 14!!!) year old French girl and is absolutely wonderful. As for the plot . . . it's a little foggy in my mind; I read the book about a year ago, and of course, could not write a review for it until now, thanks to this wonderful website! However, I do remember that the story centers around three teenage girls-Jade, Opal, and Amber-who are "chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy" according to the inside description of the book. Their quest requires them to save an enchanted kingdom by the name of Fairytale. The book periodically switches back to the 21st century and to Joa, a young girl who is fighting for her life in a hospital in Paris. Her dreams take her to the magical world where Jade, Opal, and Amber are carrying out their destinies. Their success will determine the fate of Fairytale-and whether or not Joa will survive.
Please take into account that this book was translated from French, so it may differ a little from what the author originally intended. (The French version, by the way, is called "La Prophtie des Pierres") I've read reviews where people claim that parts of the plot are "corny," but really, they should consider that it could sound a lot better in French than in English. Come on, she's 13-14ish; this is pretty amazing when you think about it!
I prophesy that you will love this book and that it will inspire you to try your hand at writing one! So fulfill my prophecy; go read it!
