Yes, I know what all of you are thinking-"This girl writes an awful lot of reviews about books involving geese!" But seriously, this happened on accident! This just happens to be another good book that just happens to make reference to a goose or two (or twelve, in this case). However, this book is nothing like "The Goose Girl."Goose Chase is a slightly mixed-up fairy tale: some parts seem like "Rapunzel," others "Toads and Diamonds," a lot of it centering around "The Six Swans," but mainly, an absolutely amazing fairy tale! Evil King, Prince Charming (even if he's kind of a dimwit), ogres (or should I say ogresses?), fairy godmothers, curses, and not to mention geese; you name it, this fairy tale's got it! I love the way Alexandria talks: almost old-fashioned but still understandable. The prince seems like a dolt at first, but he's really not as brainless as he seems. His intentions are always the best, even though he does mess up sometimes...(actually, almost all the time).Of course, the geese are absolutely hilarious, and for me, the ending of the book was totally unexpected. A sequel-worthy book as well! This novel, which just happens to involve geese, (I'm telling you, it was pure coincidence!) is also profanity/bad stuff free, so it's a safe read. Okay, I've given away too much already. I hope I didn't ruin the story for y'all! Goose Chase is a book worth reading. Maybe the geese have something to do with it... P.S. Does anyone have any idea what "in certes" means? |
