| My Theatre Life... |
| Since before I was born, the theatre has been an important part of my life. I can remember being 4 yrs. old, sitting at the top of my stairs, listening to rehearsals for the musical that my dad was in, and wishing that I could be a part of it. My father, at that time, was a member of Warwick Players, which was our community theatre group. He later joined Barker Players in Providence. As time went on, and I saw more and more plays and musicals, I fell in love with the theatre. My summers were spent at theatre camp, my cherished winter weekends in New York seeing something on Broadway, and my spring and fall weekends were spent watching whatever current production my dad was in. Although I adore all aspects of the theatre, my passion is for musicals. To me, they were much more exciting and glamorous than a "regular" play. Most of my family has some sort of background in music - be it vocal or otherwise - so many a road trip is or was spent listening to them, and it isn't uncommon for one of us to burst into song at the mention of a line which might pertain to one. |
