Cobh Harbor Sunday, 4/18/04 | |||||||||||||||||
Cobh (pronounced 'cove') is the harbor of Cork City. It is located off N25 on Great Island. Many emigrants to America, including my great grandparents James Finn (Cork) and Mary Kearns (Tralee) left on ships bound from this port. Cobh was the final port of call for the oceanliners Titanic and Lusitania. We had a late lunch at the Titanic Bar on the Cobh waterfront before starting east on N25 to stay overnight in Enniscorthy in County Wexford. left - the Navigator statue in the waterfront park with St Colman's Cathedral overlooking the harbor town in the background. |
