| Some of My Favorite Dolls | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| In no particular order, these are some of my favorite dolls in my collection. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Though Belle technically belongs to my daughter, I still love her beautiful, serene face. Belle proved to be brave and resourceful in the Disney movie, and looked beneath the surface to find the Prince within the Beast. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Debbie was my favorite when I was a girl. I didn't have a Glori doll, and I loved Debbie's red hair. She became the lead actress in my childhood fantasies. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Of all the Topper dolls in my collection, this particular Glori, and Kevin, are my two special favorites. Which is why, when I decided to do a wedding photo, I chose the two of them as the bride and groom. They make a lovely couple, don't they? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Maureen was missing a few hair plugs in the very front of her head when I got her. I couldn't resist giving her a "witchy" lock of white against her dark brown hair. She reminds me now of Polgara, from "The Belgariad" series of books by David Eddings. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Akira" is the epitome of the handsome, dashing anime hero. One look at his face and you can't help falling in love with him. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Jade is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. She has a quiet charm, and a gentle appeal. She doesn't shout out to be noticed....but you do notice her. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Put aside the flashy Vegas showgirl-type costume, and you'll see that Shonti has an earthy beauty and power that goes beyond just being an animal trainer for a stage magician. You believe she truly could be a Guardian of Magic. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I never much cared for the "Head-to-Toe" Dawn dolls in the past, but the more I looked at them, dressed them in different fashions, the more I fell in love with their pixie-like bobbed hair and mischievous smile. She looks like she's up to something! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Of all the new Checkerboad/Toy-O-Rama Dawn dolls ever produced, little Shannon (or Maura, if you get the "Tee-Time" doll) is my absolute favorite. Look at that face! She's adorable! Which is why she gets to model some of the fashions I make for my dolls. Above she's wearing a cheerleader outfit, and to the left she's wearing a Cubs baseball jersey. Both outfits have been re-worked from scrapbooking embellishments. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This particular Dawn is probably my favorite. I don't know what it is about her that appeals to me. Probably the impression of confidence, self-assuredness, and determination. Dawn has the look of a woman who knows exactly what she wants, and how she's going to get it. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
