Another Mysterious WORLD of Morgaine
The Society for Creative Anachronism
This is my Idea of a Good Time

The
Society for Creative Anachronism or SCA for short, in my humble opinion
this is what it is to me. As members of the SCA we strive to recapture
the Middle Ages and Renaissance in all its splendor and glory. You
choose
a persona (this is the type of person that you want to represent ), you
research everything about that time period, the culture, the people,
dress,
weaponry, armor, jewelry, food; in other words anything that
represented
anything of that time period and culture. Authenticity is encouraged,
with
a few modern twist, we cover an ice chest, or anything that is not time
period. We use modern toilets, (thank the gods). And we try to be much
cleaner than most people of that time period. But from all outward
appearances
at an event, we try to use what they used in those days. Some who can
afford
it, go all out in appearance, for those that cannot, they do their
best.
The whole thing is to bring people closer together and to have fun. The
SCA is a great place to play, beat up on your friends and then get to
laugh
about it later, sing old songs around a fire, and get to meet royalty.
There
are many events across the United States, Canada, Australia, and
Europe,
plus many other groups in remote areas of our globe., including some of
our Navy's ships.
I
find that being part of the SCA is a great pastime as well as a job for
me. I am an officer for the Caversgate Shire in the Principality of the
Summits in the Kingdom of AnTir. I work as a Herald; this is an office
that does the designs like the ones on Shields you see knights carry in
movies.
If
you like the middle ages or Renaissance time then you may be interested
in joining or finding out more information about the SCA. Then you can
go directly to the Current Middle Ages Page below or e-mail me
directly.
The address is below as well. And I will do my best to put you in
contact
with people in your area.
