The peaceful nation of Windurst was where Blkmgflare called home.  The only child of two proud parents and a family blood-line of powerful black mages Blkmgflare yearned to be like his parents who stepped away from the destiny of their families lineage and seeked a new destiny utitlizing the abilities passed down to them.  Then came the Great War.  The war that almost destroyed Windurst and changed Blkmgflares life forever.
It was a cold windsday today.  Blkmgflare sat at the table picking at his windurstian salad.  He looked across the table at his mom, dad, and Dr. Shantotto.  They were discussing work as Dr. Shantotto reached into her tunic and pulled out a letter.  The letter was sealed with the emblem of Heavens Tower.  Blkmgflare recognized that symbol anywhere.  Looking now at his father who received the letter he watched his fathers face turn from his cheery smile to a grim frown.  Somethings not right Blkmgflare thought.
There coming. He heard a voice say.
Blkmgflare turned in the direction of the voice to his left and saw only his fathers mana orb display on the back wall.  Blkmgflare turned back to the table and looked at his parents.  They were now in a heated discussion with Dr. Shantotto talking frantically.  Suddenly as if on cue there was a loud explosion that sounded quite near their house.  Blkmgflare jumped up and ran to the window to see what was the noise.  The sky that just a few minutes ago was black was now a crimson red.
We must get out of here-wery at once! shouted Dr. Shantotto.
Dr. Shantotto grabbed Blkmgflare and hurried along with his parents out the back entrance of their home.  The air reaked of smoke and ash as flame arrows could be seen raining down on the peaceful town.  Blkmgflare looked at where Dr.Shantotto was leading everyone.  It was a secret entrance to the Horutoto Ruins that only his family knew about.  Dr. Shantotto thrust out her hand while running as a small beam of light sprang towards the barrier protecting the entrance.  Blkmgflare stared at the barrier as it dimensioned for a split second giving them time to run through it before reappearing as if nothing had occurred.
The sounds of screams and explosions grew weaker and weaker as they ran faster through the ruins.  When they stopped running they were in a large chamber with a large granite door that was partially open.
Were to late.  The army has already been deployed.  Our mission was to take this passage and intercept the enemy as we know this is their target.  We were also going to use this route to shuttle out the people.  But you two have a special task you must fulfill.  I am not aware of the details entirely but I was personally told by the Star Sybil that you both knew what you must do.  Dr. Shantotto turned and looked at Blkmgflares parents.  As Blkmgflare stood holding Dr. Shantottos hand his dad approached him and rustled his hair.
Your mom and I have to go away for a little while ok little buddy.  You stay and be good for Dr. Shantotto wont you.
Blkmgflares mouth moved to speak but stopped as his mom kneeled before him and put her finger to it.
Now now Blk its okay.  We will be fine.  You just remember to do as your father says.  We are counting on you to take care of Dr. Shantotto and listen to her.
Blkmgflare nodded his head and held back the tears in his eyes.  He stood and watched as his parents stepped through the small opening in the granite door and began to cry as the door shut loudly behind them.  The day of the Great War. The day his life changed forever.  This is Blkmgflares story
