Sea of pink: Students wear the shade to raise awareness October, also known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is an international health campaign designed to bring awareness to a disease. During this month, we hold a campaign to increase awareness among the public and to raise funds. We encourage all the participants of Pink Day wear the pink colour shirts (global symbol of breast cancer) because we hopefully can reminding people that there's hope and possible help to save lives.
Here it is: Students (from left) Saina, Sophie and Hiara showing pink ribbons. We invited the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA) to give separate talks to girls between 11 and 18 years, as well as parents, on the importance of regular self-examination and early detection. ^We spoke to them about being comfortable with their own bodies and doing regular self-examinations so that they know if something changes in their body, ̄ said Lee Jun Keen, head of the organizer.

This campaign is a build-up to our Pink Walk in Miri in Taman Desa Jaya on Feb 12.Breast Cancer Foundation Malaysia attended the event, setting up booths to sell bangles, pins and teddy bears to students and parents. Our organization also sold pink T-shirts designed by ourselves and all proceeds were be donated to BCWA.
