Hi there, and welcome to the PC En-Guarde home page. Here you will find a collection of PC programs to assist you in running an En-Garde game.

Well, En-Garde is a semi-historical game/simulation of life in seventeenth century Paris as a gentleman soldier. Much in the spirit of Errol Flynn's Three Musketeers movie and the British movie of the same name. Basically do you like to party, gamble & womanize because this is just what your alter ego (or character) spends most of his time up to. That is if you are not too busy plotting to back stab your enemies or stuck performing his humdrum regimental duties. Maybe you're off to war, heaping fame and fortune upon your name. But watch the ever present Cardinal Richelieu is everywhere!

En-Garde is a game set in the Paris of Cardinal Richelieu, the Three Musketeers and Louis the XIII.

What is PC En-Guarde or PEG?

PEG is a collection of PC based utilities that take care of the boring number crunching aspects involved in running an En-Garde game. This gives you, the games referee more time to concentrate on the fun bits i.e. attending to your players plotting & machinations and writing the turn newsletter.

So you want it? Its free and probably full of bugs! I have used it successfully to run my own small game of ~30 chars so the most glaring bugs should be long gone. However this is the first build with a new compiler............

So here it is  PC En-Guarde V1.0(<200Kb) . NB this package is for a PC Windows environment.

Here is the Linux X86 version (<200Kb tar & gzip'd => tgz). NB these are terminal mode programs

To extract type'tar zxvf linux_PEG.tgz'

I can if requested produce HP-UX  version (and possibly Solaris) if anyone is interested.

Errrrr  .....its a fair cop... the documentation isn't finished!
But there is enough to get you up an running. Especially if you are an experienced En-Garde GM. If the documentation is a real show stopper then I will finish it, but I felt I needed to make the program available to gauge the interest if any. This should either spur me on if anybody is interested or finally kill it off.
