At last, you can finally make and edit your own maps for Black & White! Finally, you can make your own
multiplayer maps like you always should have done and finally you can make great new landscapes for your
favorite game! And all you need to do is download the Black & White Express Map Editor.
There are several great features in this map editor, such as:

* Allows you to create and edit Black and White Maps.
* Auto Code Insert - Automatically insert Villagers,
Abodes and much more without writing one line of code.

A lot of you have spotted that the CD music (and subsequently some of the sounds) in Black & White have
disappeared after you installed the developer patch. Lionhead have, thanks to you guys, fixed the error and it
will be ok in the official release.
Until then here is how you can fix the problem:
1. Copy your AUDIO directory from the installation CD to your installation folder of Black & White. Upon fail
from reading from CD, the game will search for the files on the hard disk.
2. Remap your CD drive to the "D" drive letter.
This error was caused by the patch causing the game to only look for the music on drive D no matter what drive
your CD ROM is.

Lionhead has completed programming the first Black and White patch. The patch also contains an
additional feature - enhanced support for Pentium 4. It is currently still undergoing configuration
testing with Electronic Arts and is awaiting QA approval before being released.
We are expecting to learn the QA completion date on Monday, at which point a notice will be posted
on this site.
Lionhead regrets that it is not able to release a pre-QA version of the Patch as originally planned
due to customer support concerns at EA.

The wonderfully brilliant BWEditors have released version 0.6 of the landscape editor obviously for Black &
White. I mean, its not going to be for Half-Life, now is it? This release includes many new features, including:
- rotating around block if one was seleccted, which lets you easier see what you've changed
- center on grid button in toolbar lets you rotate around the grid center as usual
- block painting implemented, now just ppaint your islands in the block overview
- block delete painting lets you now jusst delete blocks by erasing in the block overview
- cell painting allows to change most thhings without using the dialog:
- countrystyle, cell height, water, fulllwater, coast attributes

Gritrok, a very observant fellow, just notified us of some vewwwyy suspicious lyrics to be found on the new
"Machine" album by Static X, an American metal band.
Track 4 off the album is entitled (wait for it) "Black and White". What is the song about? Well, take a look at
this snippet of the lyrics:

"Black & White Patch v1.0 Readme
===============================
The following problems have been identified and fixed.
1. Your Creature occasionally locked up and could not be moved via the leash.
2. On Land Five your Creature is cursed by the enemy. The problem which led to this curse being transferred
with that Creature into the Multiplayer game has been fixed.
3. The few cases of internet log-in problems, whereby an Incorrect Password message has been returned
despite the Password being valid was caused by the software of the ISPs involved.
4. Two save game bugs which occasionally caused a crash.
5. Creature occasionally forgot learnt info when moving between lands.
6. On land five the Creature now recovers correctly from curse.
7. SafeDisk problem with Windows 2000 has been solved using SafeDisk 2.30.031
8. Multiplayer game select bug sometimes prevented a player from joining.
9. All ISPs now work relaiably with Lionhead game server.
10. The word "Death" no longer said when villagers dies of old age..
11. The line "Another god is about to take over your village" now only appears only when relevant.
12. Bug fixed whereby Tapping a Food or Wood Miracle gives massive amount of that resource.
13. The Hermit Challenge now completable if a Creature eats the Hermit.
14. Bug whereby player could cast certain Miracles, and allow the hand influence to run out in mid-cast in
order to replenish the Miracle now fixed.
15. Two Out-Of-Sync bugs have been fixed in Multiplayer game.
16. No longer possible to get stuck in the Gods' Playground when quitting a game from there using Alt+F4
17. Creature can now die when under a Freeze Miracle.
18. Worship Site bug where villagers took massive amounts of food has been fixed.
19. Creature does not become more evil after being punished for fishing, eating animals or wheat.
20. It is now possible to lock a Multiplayer channel to prevent others from entering.
21. Creature's natural desire to eat villager has been reduced.
22. Creature doesn't become constipated if you punish him for pooing.
23. Smoothing added to rotation of villagers.
24. Now impossible to cheat by placing a new town centre in virtual influence, then picking it up and using
its influence to move it further.
25. Advisors are now quicker to warn about imminent Town loss.
26. Animation blending bug in villagers, causing unwanted visual effects has been rectified.
27. Bug involving placing a scaffold, saving, then loading and being able to pick up or split the scaffold
has been fixed.
28. Worshippers' desire for food is now more related to their hunger.
29. Loading bug involving Creature leashes fixed.
30. Program ormachine crashes during startup with certain graphics card and driver combinations now fixed.
31. Creatures of vastly differing sizes occasionally would not fight each other. This bug has been fixed
by an automatic rescaling of the opponent Creature.
32. Completing the Blind Woman Challenge by uniting her with her brother now gives the correct number of
potions left rather than zero.
IMPROVEMENTS
=========
The following improvements have been included with Patch v1.0
1. Black & White will now allow people to skip the tutorial and/or Creature development section early on land
one if they have played the game already.
If the current profile already has a Creature, or there is more than one profile on the machine when a new game
is started then a requester box appears asking if you want to skip the intro.
There are 4 options in this box. The first is to start the game normally. The second is to skip the beginning
tutorial and quests and go straight to selecting your Creature. The third is to skip all of the story quests
on land one; this means that after selecting your Creature, he automatically gains all initial knowledge, the
big Creature Guide doesn't exist, and the vortex is open. You can of course still spend as much time as you
want on this land.
The fourth option is to keep your original Creature. This option is the same as option three, but you don't
select a Creature, and your old Creature remains. If you select the last option and your current profile
doesn't have a Creature then option three is executed instead.
2. Pressing 'S' for villager statistics now displays the sex of the villager using shading and colour."

...although not in the same form as many others, Cfur, Site Director of Black & Blue, a hosted site on PBW,
brought a hilarious section of their site to my attention.
The site I'm referring to is Pissed_Sheep's Comic Strips section. I think that something like this is needed in
our community, and it's good to see people have a light-hearted sense of humour. My favourite one has to be
the 'Pies Joke' (you'll know what I mean when you see it). Top quality!

We got good news :)
This is what Richard Evans of lionhead sad:
all code for the patch has been finished. The patch goes into testing this week, and will be released
when testing deem it stable. (Shouldn't be more than two weeks). Features on the patch include:
football, creatures dancing to mpegs and remembering which mpegs they like/dislike, fixed
creature behavioural problems (getting overly keen on eating villages, becoming constipated if
punished too much, ..). A number of other fixes have been included which i don't know too much
about.

It seems DarkYoda is asking the community of developers for help on this one:

i made a new release !
but this one is source code only, i hope someone else is able to fix that nasty animation bug.
the problem is that the CAnim angles aren't interpreted right. (they are converted into a matrix, but
they are applied wrong)
the current source is able to load cbn and hd files.
good luck with fixing the bug !
plz tell me asap if you fixed it !
