Definition: Establishing permanent vegetation such as grasses or legumes/forbs used as a part of a seed mixture on sites that have or are expected to have high erosion rates, and on sites that have physical, chemical, or biological conditions that prevent the establishment of vegetation with normal practices.
Purpose: To stablize areas with existing or expected high rates of soil erosion by water or wind.
Conditions Where Practice Applies: A one-time reseeding of a failed grass stand when the failure is due to conditions beyond the control of the landowner on previously state cost-shared seeding. |
