It was raining when we arrived at the Guangzhou airport, we were hoping the weather would clear up, and it did about half an hour into the flight. We arrived at Haikou Airport about 10 am. jumped on the tour shuttle and headed south. Our tour had 12 people in it, all chinese, and only 3 people spoke english, me, Ling, and a vendor from Guangzhou named Song. It was a pleasure having Song on our tour, he knew a lot about the island and was always happy to answer any questions I would ask. Two other couples were also on our tour and were honeymooners themselves. Our ride to Wanning was a interesting, our tour made 6 stops at local villages, each one had a different type industry, pearls, quartz, crystal, wood carvings, batik fabric makers, and medicinal herbs. We had a great lunch in the city of Qionghai. Chinese like to drink hot tea with their meals, I had a Tiger beer with mine. |

I was impressed when we arrived at the Kangle Garden Resort, it was as beautiful as any five star hotel in Hawaii. That evening we decided to see one of the local shows in town. The show included a magician, 2 singers, a comic, and two transvestites. I didnt understand a damn thing the comic said or the lyrics of the singers but the magician was good. The locals were more intriqued with the two transvestites, all the women wanted to touch their arms to see how soft their skin was. After the show we went to the pool bar and kicked back for a while.
