| Chapter Six | ||||||||||||
| Xenta paced around her room phone to her ear on hold with her doctors office. The time had come for her three-month appointment.
How convenient, she growled to herself trying to block out the elevator music, Id have to have an appointment after a month with Vegeta. I can fit you in tomorrow at seven pm, said the receptionist. Thanks, Ill be there, Xenta hung up. She placed her cordless phone on its cradle and sat on her black comforter. Her whole room was black from the floor to the ceiling save for the white light bulb that hung from the fan. It was the only non-changing thing in her room. The light beside her bed was always black, blue, or red. She rose from her bed and headed out of her room turning off the light on her way out plunging her room into darkness. Just as she exited into the hall Marron came around the corner with a melancholy look. Hey Marron, what's the matter, Xenta asked against her better judgment. Marron shot her a my life is over look. It cant be that bad, Xenta smiled. At least not as bad as my life. Im never gonna get a boyfriend, Marron wailed, theres no one who likes me and the one guy I like doesnt even notice me. On, this is a guy thing, Xenta let out at a sigh of relief, Id love to help you out. Just go into my room and wait. Ill be back in like ten minutes or less. Ok, Marron smiled with tears in her eyes. She walked into the dark room as Xenta took off in the opposite direction. Why am I always involved in everyones relationships? I have problems with my own! She headed toward the break room searching for Jescele. Chibi Trunks sat in the break room waiting for Miari to come back from the club. Chibi wanted to ask more about this business with Nat and Marron. A child with Marron? He couldnt have been serious. But it looked like it hurt him to remember it. For him, for me I wont let it happen. I love Nat, he said aloud. Ok I guess I walked in at a self discovery moment, Xenta said, but if you could take some time away from yourself and tell me where Jescele is. Shes out with Piccolo, Chibi answered. Anies! I need to talk to her, Xenta hit the wall. She leaned in the doorway without a word. Chibi sat at the table wishing shed leave him alone. So hows Nat, Xenta asked suddenly. Shes fine, he answered solemnly not looking at her. Whats the matter, Xenta sighed knowing shed be involved sooner or later. Were redefining our relationship, he started, and then theres someone else. Youre talking about Marron arent you, she wanted to know. Howd you know, shocked covered his face. I know about all relationships, she shrugged, and I heard all about the trip to the pool. And you cant honestly expect me not to pick up on the way Miari acts around her. Chibi smiled guiltily. A big something. He knew too much about the future. Xenta can one change the future, Chibi asked with a child like curiosity. I guess its possible, Xenta thought out loud, if you knew what was going to happen and could avoid the situation. Say you know youre going to break something by dropping so just avoid picking it up to avoid breaking it. But then again it could just be that youre meant to break it so that you end up bumping into it and knocking it over. Do you understand? Not really, Chibi admitted. Its like this. Say you like this girl and you know that she likes you but you have it on good authority that it is something you shouldnt do. If you are meant to go out with her then you will go out with her end of story, Xenta explained. Well that makes sense, Chibi said softly. So if I am meant to go out with Marron then it will happy. I just have to look for signs. You know she rally likes you, Xenta burst his bubble, and I can tell you like her so just go for it. I mean who knows if it will work out with Nat! Go talk to Miari if you need more information. Hell know. Chibi watched in shock as Xenta simply walked away after she finished speaking. How can she do that? She laid all this on me then walks away! Ive already talked to Miari and I still dont know give me a sign! He followed her down the hall. Xenta knew he would follow her so she stopped and turned around. If you want to see her, shes in my room, Xenta told him, and when you get there tell her Im sorry but I cant talk to her today. Before Chibi could say a word Xenta had vanished. He looked around the hall; there was no one there so he went to talk to Marron. Jescele sat on the edge of the fountain in Freedom Park. She watched Piccolo pace back and forth deep in thought. Please tell me where I got it, Jescele begged twisting the ring on her finger. He stopped pacing suddenly and stared at her intensely. I told you already, he yelled, he hurt you and you dont want to know him. He sold you out to Dende! it pained him to tell her that and if it had been any time before they saved her from Dende it wouldnt have. The truth was that this guy had nothing to so with her capture and he lead his last few men in an all out war to save her. He was the only one who lived and he did save her. Everyone else had given up on her because Dende had wiped her memory. Slowly she began to remember but she could never remember him. Her only memory was the ring and a hope that he still loved her. I cant believe you, she sighed, he wouldnt have given me this ring if he didnt love me. Not anymore! He sold you out! And why do you care you moved no to Godog. That is what youre calling him now right? piccolo eyed her suspiciously. Jescele looked down unable to make eye contact. How does he know that? I havent even told him that yet! Well, Piccolos right I have Godog but I know I must have loved the man who have me this ring. I can feel it. Oh I hate this! Ever since Dende fucked me up I cant remember anything about that old like. Youd think Id have at least written some things down. Piccolo knew what she was thinking about. It was hard not to. She had always come to him in confidence that was why he was so hurt by the Dende thing and him. Its not like you can blame me for not telling you! I would if I could but it would only end up hurting you. He doesnt know how you and Agent Silver are connecter. In killing her hell kill you. And the girl, shed throw a fit if she knew why I kept you from her. Kami save anyone else if they find out what I know? Of course there was on person who knew but Piccolo had no idea she was even still involved in anything. She was close to everyone yet no one knew her part in all this. So where did you go off to when Xenta and I were gone before, Jescele asked breaking the silence. I was looking out for a friend, he told her, and thats all Im saying. Now lets go before they start to worry. Jescele nodded and disappeared from his sight. Piccolo walked out of the clearing. Im in deeper than I ever wanted to be. How am I going to survive if she keeps this up? And Xenta, what is her role in all this? And where do I fit in? There has to be a reason for all this and Im going to find it. Xenta why are you going out with a friend tonight, Jescele whined. I told you I havent seen her in months and I already made the call! You werent here so I couldnt see if we were going out. So I made plans, Xenta explain. Id tell you where Im going but youd jump to conclusions. But were supposed to go see Natalie at the club, Jescele reminded her. I know, Xenta, sighed, Ive got it all figured out. My friend has to go to work tonight so well be spending just a little time together then Ill head to the club. All right thats fine, Jescele agreed, its been forever since we have all been together to hang out. Ok, well Ive got to go get ready, Xenta smiled. A few hours and then my appointments over. Xenta walked back to her room to get ready for later. She shut her door and walked to her closet. Ok lets see what to wear? It has to say free for the night but Im not looking for a relationship only a little fun. But it cant say that to Puarta, Xenta thought out loud. She thumbed through the clothes on the hangers. Skirt or pants. Paints. Blue, black, or gray? Black. Jean, leather, or Dickies? Leather. Ok now to the top! Should I wear sleeves or no? Sleeves. Long, medium, short,, bell or straps? Short. Low cut or high? Or v-neck? Low. Ok now fit well or baggy? Well fit. Now words or plan? Words. Color red, black, white, or dark blue? White letters. Now what should it say? She looked through her black shirts to find a suitable phrase. She would laugh at a few of them. Now thats good! I cant believe I have a shirt that says that. She pulled the shirt out of her closet and tossed it on the bed. I cant believe Jescele put that shirt in here. I told her Id take it but who knew Id still have it, she laughed. Looking around something caught her eye. She walked over to her bedside table. There sat her picture cube. The top picture was a candid shot of a young man in human form. He was tall with sea foam green hair. His eyes accentuated his deep green eyes. He stood there laughing at something just outside the picture. This was the only picture of hers that never changed. I promised you Id come back and I will. Id never leave you with my broten for too long. On the floor next to her bed was another picture. It had been cast aside by accident on day. It was a picture of her ex-boyfriend Kohl. He was also in human form but still had the Devon look. His deep brown eyes spoke volumes that only she could even understand. No one else had ever been able to understand him, save his sister. His dark brown almost black hair cut short but still long enough that she could always run her fingers through it. He was facing the camera posing with his arms flexed to show his rippling muscles. She could remember hat day all to well. ~Flashback~ Xenta set her camera down on a nearby chair in the weight room at her boyfriends house. There you are, he heard his voice from the doorway. She flipped around to see him. Hi baby, she smiled, Im ready for my Devon warrior training. Good, he shut the door and looked it. She watched as he striped of his white undershirt. He stood in front of her watching her watch him. God I love you. I cant believe I do because we promised not to fall in love. I want to tell you but itd drive you farther away. Come one Kohl lets get started. I have other things to do later today, Xenta smiled. Like what, he eyed her playfully. Jescele and I have prior engagements, she told him. Then what are they, he asked grabbing her by the waist and swinging her around. Kohl stop, she laughed, I cant tell you I promised. And Jescele would kill me. He set her down and looked into her eyes, she stood there knowing something bad was going to happen. Come on lets get started, she broke his gaze by turning her head. Yeah lets start your training, he walked over to the punching bag. Several hours later they both stood arms up painting and waiting for an attack. Xenta watched him carefully knowing and anticipating his next move. He grabbed her arm and twisted it behind her but she flipped him around and put him in a front submission hold. She smiled evilly at him and leaned in. offensive move number one: front submission hold. Offensive move number two: lean in close and offensive move number three: when fighting a guy, especially your boyfriend tongue kiss him. She kissed him deeply knowing he wouldnt be able to stand it. She could always make him forget fighting. She dropped her hold and let him take control of the kiss. Im going to miss this. Xenta let her mind wonder. I wish I could stay here with you but I cant. Theres no way. I knew that when all this started but now I wish it didnt have to happen. Xenta, he whispered brining her out of her thoughts. Yeah, she asked. But before he could answer a flash went off. Xenta turned toward the door to see Jescele standing there in her wanted: A meaningless one night relationship tee-shirt camera in hand smiling. You looked too cute. I hate to take the picture, Jescele smiled. What are you doing here, Xenta asked giving Jescele a youre interrupting look of death. We have to go in like forty-five minutes. You said youd be back hours ago, Jescele reminded her, and Natalie doesnt like it when we are late to a live band night. Remember Nottlerite is playing tonight. I know, Xenta said, but I was just about to leave. Now give me my camera I want to take a picture before we go. Jescele handed over the camera without a word. Xenta went back to Kohls side and started posing him. You know if you want to be alone for this I can come back, Jescele joked. Nonsense Jescele, Xenta smiled evilly, I can share the wealth. Jescele chocked back a laugh and waved Xenta on. Now flex your muscles, Xenta directed, I want a good manly picture. Xenta looked at him through the viewfinder on her camera. His half naked sweaty body became more appealing. Ive got to get out of here before I change my mind. She tool the picture quickly them walked toward the door. He followed her. Jescele can you, she started. Jescele nodded and left the room. She then turned to face him. Kohl I have to go, she tried to avoid the subject. Xenta you cant keep avoiding me, he said voice full of emotion. I have to go, Xenta tried again. He walked toward her then grabbed her wrist boldly. Xenta I love you, he spoke boldly. She turned her head away from his eyes. I cant look into his eyes. Ill never be able to do this if I do. I have to get away. Tears started forming at her eyes but she pushed them back and looked at him. I know you do, she looked at him stoic, but Im sorry I cant say the same. And its over. I cant keep living in this lie.. I have to go. She simply turned and walked away. He watched her go, pain hitting his heart but he dare not go after her because if he did he knew he would send her farther away from him. Im sorry. ~End flashback~ Xenta remembered the painful look in his eyes when she left him. He was so hurt but I had to end it. I never really loved him no matter who I fooled I know. Ill know it I ever find the one because I wont so something to him! Oh if I would only translate that word. Arda. What the hell does that mean? I dont know Jadar and Jescele cant read my mothers diary even if I need a translation. Xenta opened the draw of the nightstand and took out one of two books. It was very old metal that hadnt been used in a long time. Its black cover and carvings on the front. At the top in each corner were the torsa broten. In the center was a gigantic white tiger sitting. At the bottom was carved and tinted gold the words Annalin rista Io ena Terron: ena annalin ose eda niesa xid Jadar. She traced over the carvings, but stopped when her fingers hit the clasp. It was made of the same strange metal and tied with black silk threads. The threads were just for decoration but she untied them anyway. She turned the book up to reveal a keyhole. She opened the top drawer of her nightstand and pulled out a small black key made from the same black metal. On the key there were two words carved, oy niesa to know in Washin. She fitted the key into its slot and turned it opening it and she flipped to the last page with writing. It was only half written on and in a different type of ink then the rest of the book. Placing the black leather bookmark aside she picked up a black pen off the nightstand and started to write Im going to see Puarta soon. I hope kohl is not there, I dont think I can handle seeing him right now. Its been months since Ive seen him and I really dont want to go back down that road again. I didnt love him so there is no need to stay with him. I dont even love Vegeta; I mean how could I love a dumb monkey anyway. Though I did spend the last month with him. You cant blame me though he can work wonders in bed. I think hes in the top five list right now. But that is going to end now. Im over him, besides Ive got work to do around here. I still need to find the deliverer. A knock came at her door breaking her concentration. Come on Xenta, Jesceles voice sounded irritated, you promised to give me a ride to the club. Give me a break Jescele. Ill be ready in like five and stop nagging. You do this every time. The only reason Im driving you is so you can get drunk. No need to get all pissed off about it, Jescele said, you can drink too if you want, Natalie will let us stay the night. She does have the room and all. Just met me at the bike in five, now go so I can get ready, Xenta commanded. The bike, Jescele asked, what happened to the rent a car? I brought it back. I prefer the bike, Xenta told her friend, now go. Kami Xenta no need to bitch at me, Jescele yelled as she turned to go. Sorry Jescele really I am, Xenta called out, Ive been stressed lately and yelling at everyone. Its kool Ill meet you at the bike, Jescele said and left Xenta alone. Xenta quickly dressed and raced to her bike. Jescele was there sitting on the back with her helmet in hand. Wow new record. Three minutes and thats makeup and everything, Jescele applauded. Alright, Ill drop you off then be back after I make my visit, Xenta said to a suddenly distracted Jescele. Oh shinny silver, Jescele drooled, oh I mean yeah ok. You know what happened last time we took the Viper to Natalies, Xenta reminded her, that dent took Bulma months to get out. Jescele nodded and put on her helmet. Xenta hoped on the bike and put on her helmet, black with red flames. I see you still have my shirt, Jescele smiled as Xenta gunned the engine. Xenta sat on the cold table in her doctors office. Come on Puarta! I need to go to the club soon. Jescele cant know I came to see her and I cant trust her not to drink too much without me there. Shell freak if I take too long here and shell know something is going on. I still cant believe his fucking appointment happened to fall right after my last assignment. Well maybe if you didnt lie to her about coming to see me she wouldnt freak out, a strong assertive female voice came from behind her. Xenta turned around to face her. Now dont look at me like that, she continued, its not like I can read your mind. Its just that you do this every time. You never tell her youre coming to see me because shell want to come to your appointment and make herself known. Shell freak out and blame your liver and youd spend twice and long here, And you wonder why I lie to her, Xenta said, either way she freaks out. At least shes earlier to deal with drunk. Now come on I want to go have fun. I know I know, Puarta smiled, lets get started. Puarta went about her work taking Xentas vitals. Well you look healthy, Puarta said, I have a few questions and I need to take some blood. They you can get to your fun. Ok, Xenta nodded, a few days ago, a whole month, the same one, not that I know of, no, never and dont ask again, yes, four and a half months, and no I cant handle that right now. Xenta had listed off her answers like normal without letting Puarta as. So your last time was a few days ago after spending a month with the same guy. You dont know if youre pregnant and you hope not nor will you tell me who he was. Jescele knows. Its been four and a half months since you saw my brother and you wont see him, Puarta made sense of the answers as she wrote them down on her clipboard. Ok time to take your blood, Puarta said taking a needle for blood, there all done. Now have you been feeling at all unusual or anything? Well Ive been a little dizzy the last couple of days. And Ive been getting really pissed off at the simplest things. And I think I fainted the other day, Xenta admitted. I think that you shouldnt drink tonight. I know youre going to the club but if youre not feeling well drinking could mess with your phasing, Puarta turned serious. Why are you trying to ruin my night, Xenta asked, If I dont drink I dont have fun. Im just trying to watch out for you, besides its not like alcohol is liquid fun in s bottle, Puarta said. Oh my Trosa broten, you did not just say that, Xenta gasped and grabbed her heart, I think I just had a heart attack for that comment. Oh please if you do have a heart attack its going to be when you are with some nameless guy in the middle of some wired sex position, Puarta smiled devilish. When she smiled like that she reminded Xenta a lot of her brother. Some times it scared her to know how much the two were alike. And what am I supposed to tell Jescele? Even ten sheets to the wind she knows when Im not drinking, Xenta reminded her friend. If you can drink something washin that would be fine, Puarta suggested. Im going to an earth club. There are no Washin drinks there. Now Ive got to get out of her before I have a drunk Jadeon pissed off at my ass, Xenta said grabbing her helmet and heading to the door. Puarta shook her head at Xenta and started to pick up her file off the table. God Xenta you were better off with Kohl. This never would have happened with him, hes careful and he misses you. Xenta sped down the street on her bike just minutes away from the club. She cut off a guy in a convertible and flipped him off. The light turned yellow and she sped though it. Im so late! Jesceles probably so plastered by now that shes left with a guy. If Hunters there Natalies not watching her and you cant count on Mango to do something like that. Jescele can be going on twenty shots by now. Xenta hoped off the bike in one quick motion and ran passed the line to the club door. Hey Eryk, she called to the bouncer. He turned to her. He was tall with long black hair almost red eyes that showed few emotions if an. His skin was dark almost gray and with what looked like red tattoos all over his body. Xenta youre late again, he scolded playfully unhooking the red rope that blocked off the door. I know man I had to go see someone before I came here and I lost track of time, she told him as he held open the door for her, Have fun in there, he winked as she disappeared into the crowd of people all dancing to the loud music. Xenta pushed through the people trying to make it to the bar. She could see Jescele hunched over the bar and Natalie standing behind the bar in front of her. Xenta pushed her way to the bar and slid into the empty seat next to her best friend. Hey guys, Xenta greeted her friends. Its about damn time you got here, and obviously drunk Jescele said moving all the shot glasses from in front of her, now Nat can stop hounding me. The number, Xenta asked. Twenty-one, Nat said, now Ive got to get back to work. Natalie left the best friends to argue over Jesceles drinking. Kami Jescele not again, Xenta sighed hitting her forehead lightly, youre always getting drunk when Im not with you. I get bored and have to do something until you show you to drink and party, Jescele explained. You drink before I show up to drink with you, Xenta shook her head, I think you may be an alcoholic. Im a lush get it right, Jescele smiled. You just like that word because it sounds like lust, Xenta smiled back. And, Jescele asked, whats so wrong with lust trilla really now? Nothing so lets go have some fun, Xenta laughed deciding to give in first this time. She headed out to the crowed dance floor while Jescele cling to the bar to keep herself sitting up right. Jescele watched Xenta charm the men on the dance floor. Always the same old Xenta. She wants a guy she gets one. And she ever has to worry about commitment. A week a month or two tops and then its over. Xenta was out on the dance floor for two hours before she edged her way back to the bar. She sat next to the Jescele again who now had a purple mixed drink in her hand. Whats that, Xenta asked turning to Jescele. Its called a Frieza burn want to try some, Jescele offered her glass to Xenta. Whats in it, Xenta asked. Im not sure that nice guy over there bought it for me, Jescele winked at him then drank from her glass. I think Ill just have water, Xenta said nodding to Nat who brought her a glass of water. Water, Jescele yelled gaining the attention of the surrounding people at the bar, but this is a bar. Im just not in the mood to drink right now, Xenta lied taking a sip of her water. Whats the matter, Jescele asked, you always want something fun to drink. Xenta shook her head and drank more water. Why are you not drinking, Jescele wanted to know, you cant get all defensive on the fact that I drink without you if you dont drink at all. I was advised against drinking by my doctor, Xenta whispered the doctor part. WHAT? Why would Puarta tell you not to drink? Jescele asked. She ran some test and- No youve got liver problems NO, Jescele wailed, You can never drink again! No its not- NO! Come on I love your liver! It allows you to drink with me! Now you can never drink again, Jescele went on calling even more attention to them. Xenta continued to drink her water listening to Jescele go on about her liver and all the good times theyd had. Suddenly Jescele dropped to her knees by Xentas side and started talking to her liver. Come on little liver, Jescele begged, you cant be bad! I love you and I need you so we can drink. Weve been though worse than this. You can pull through. You can regenerate. You can get better I know you can. Xenta has to be able to drink again. How else will we have fun? Jescele patted Xentas side and rose to her feet. I didnt want to tell your liver but you might need to get a new one. You know Im sure Bulma could make you one. Yeah an invincible one so you can drink forever with me, Jescele squealed. Xenta could see Jesceles sincere concern for her but even more people were starting to stare at them. Jescele youre drunk! You dont know what youre saying, Xenta tried. Please dont quit on me, Jescele dived toward Xenta grabbing her around the waist in a hug almost knocking her off the stool. After Xenta regained her balance she forced her way out of Jesceles arms and stood up. You know what, Xenta turned to her friend anger in her voice, its not my liver. She walked a few steps then turned to face the sobbing Jescele. And find your own way home. I dont want you on my bike like this, then she pushed her way out of the club. Jescele pulled herself back on her bar stool staring in the direction Xenta had left. Shes not fun when she doesnt drink, a small tear rolled down her cheek. A hand was on her shoulder. Come on Jescele Ill take you home, a familiar male voice said helping her to stand. Miari what are you doing here, Jescele smiled at her friend. I came for a little fun, he told her but looking behind the bar. He mouthed a few words then helped Jescele walk out of the bar and to his red jaguar. You have a very small car, Jescele laughed hysterically as Miari helped her in. Miari turned on the car and backed out of his space annoyed that Xenta left Jescele and ruined the majority of his evening. Damn her for being so drunk. Why is Jescele always drinking? Its like she wants to be like this! And Xenta, storming off and leaving her here, she should know better then to leave Jescele her alone with drinks and men. I can tell you this, he turn to Jescele, somethings going on with Xenta. Hours latter Xenta stood brushing her hair in front of her bedroom mirror. This was about the only time she let her hair down. She was singing softly along with her cd player as her unofficial theme song Red Light Special filled the room. Trosa Broten I fee like shit, whats wrong with me? I havent felt like this since the last time I had the flu. She set the brush down softly and clicked off the CD player. She turned toward her bed and jumped. There stood a blast from her past, Kohl, Puartas older brother and her own ex-boyfriend. What, she growled more fiercely then she meant. Is that any way to greet the love of your life, she asked sweetly, too sweetly for him. I dont love, she continued to growl. You loved me, he reminded her. You wish, she snapped bearing her phased cat teeth, but the way I remember it was a simple infatuation that was satisfied after we had sex. She started to phase more cat-like and part Devon as well. Red strikes appeared down her light blue skin her eyes yellowed in color and the pupils became slits. Her nails ever grew into claws ready to attack. He was enjoying himself, making her mad and getting her to become Devon. If he could get her to fully change she would be his. He would be able to control her and use her evil to make her want him again. You know I could never love you, she almost hissed at him, not when you do this to me. She raised her hand and scratched him across the cheek. Blood trickled down his black and red skin. Xenta stared at him something inside her close to snapping. Im not your little toy. You cant expect me to stay with you! Im a free spirit. I refuse to be tied down, She refused the urge to jump on him and but him on the neck. Youre just confused my love. But Im working on fixing that. But now I must go. Just remember this, you know deep inside you want me ad you will come back. They always come back. You will not be able to handle this on your own, he smiled at her and blew her a kiss. Get out, she growled as he shimmied away. Back at the club Miari walked around the bar. It was closed now and most of the lights were off. The DJ had gone home hours ago. He walked across the dance floor slowly inhaling the silence. Nat, he called softly, Im back. He stopped and turned towards a curved staircase in a far back corner. He climbed toward the second story of the club. She had rooms up there so she didnt need a separate apartment. Nat, he called again. He turned down one hall leading toward the master bedroom. Where is she? I told her Id be back. She knows Im good for that. I need to see her before I go home. Im needed in my time my son needs me. Miari what are you doing here, Chibis voice came from behind him. Miari turned around to face his younger self. I need to talk to Natalie, Miari said. Shes not here right now, Chibi told him, she went out to get something but shes been gone for hours now. I told her Id wait but you know how mom is I need to get back. Can you tell her Im sorry? Sure not a problem, Miari looked at his younger self, I have something to talk to her about so Ill wait. Thanks, Chibi headed back toward the stairs. It was hard not to tell Chibi the truth about their beloved Natalie. I have to tell her tonight. I know I promised I wouldnt mess with our lives but if she knows then maybe I can spare both of them heartache and pain. If it doesnt happen then he wont have an uncaring women standing next to a good friend and his son. Oh how I miss my little Usanha. Miari didnt have to wait long, as soon as Chibi was gong Natalie appeared again. She was in her room changing her clothes. You actually went through with it, Miari smiled in the dark. What are you talking about, she asked keeping her back to him. The call, he said, of whom you are. Now Trunks you know Im only human, she pulled off her shirt and dropped it in the hamper. In appearance only Natalie. I know. In fact Chibi is starting to suspect. This is the night that set is all off. The fact that you left him here so long after all the stores are closed will turn in his head all night. I know what you are. How did you find out, she asked him pulling her new shirt over her head. It was this same night in my time. I waited for you for hours and just when I was going to leave you came back all covered in blood and yet you were unhurt. I thought then that you could not be human. And I was proven right later on. You finally told me the truth. There was something about me that always made you be honest. You told me about your cousins who dont even know the truth. But there were things we never talked about and that drove me into the arms of another woman. I cheated on you in my time because you wouldnt sleep with me. And then you did but the other woman was having my baby. I brought her to live with you to keep her safe from her family. You two talked and found out the truth. She had my son here and you two became friends but only she forgave me for lying to the both of you. One night led to so mush pain for everyone. I didnt even get to see you or his mother for almost two years and then I was sent back to this time. They told me not to mess with anything but I just couldnt let any of you go though that pain. Though I love my son it is a lot of pain to carry knowing I do not have you with me. His name is not human, she whispered. Its Washin, Miari smiled at her comment. Whats so funny, She asked irritated. Something stuck out in the back of her mind. How does he know that? I havent even confirmed everything yet and he knows. How could my future self have told him? The boys mother is Marron, Chibis childhood friend, he told her. Is she Washin, she asked tensely. No, shes human, Miari said. She nodded in understanding. Nothing makes sense anymore. Can you go, she asked, I have a lot to think about. Miari nodded and slipped back into the shadow leaving her alone. The next afternoon Xenta and Jescele were training in the gravity chamber. They stood at opposite sides of the room. I cant believe you just left me there, Jescele laughed. You wouldnt shut up about my liver, Xenta shot a blast at her, and you grabbed me around my waist. Jescele easily dodge and fired back. I was drunk and you werent drinking with me, Jescele tried. I told you that I wasnt drinking because they drew blood and I was driving, Xenta shouted. I know that, Jescele smiled, we know better then to let me drive. Yeah youd never leave, Xenta laughed, youd move into the upstairs. Jescele blasted at Xenta but she dodged and sent one back. Just so you know, Xenta dodged again, Im expecting a call. Sure, Godog will be calling me too. He wants to make plans, Jescele flew up and sent to blast at Xenta. You two seem really close. Is there something I should know, Xenta smiled Why Xenta you seem awfully interested in me. Are you trying to avoid something, Jescele asked. No, Im just interested in whats going on with you, Xenta dodged another blast. Come on Xenta fly, Jescele urged, you havent left the ground all day. My stomach is unsettled, Xenta answered, Ive been feeling sickish and I dont think I should fly. I might get worse. Man whats up with you? You dont drink, youre sick now! You went to the doctor yesterday, Jescele said. Im fine. I just got a bug, Xenta smiled. Jescele lasted at her again. Xenta sidestepped and shot back. Jescele still hovered about the ground near her bag. So Jescele howd you get home, Xenta asked changing the subject. I dont really remember. I could have sworn that Miari was there but he doesnt ever know Natalie, Jescele thought out loud. What about Chibi, Xenta asked, Could it have been him? He never goes out like that, Jescele said, but I could have been imagining it caz I was drunk. And you know I see things or will I think I do. You remember when Bulma and I used to go out partying. I sure do, Xenta laughed, you two would get so drunk that you couldnt even remember what bar youd go to and youd never be able to get to the same bar because youd get kicked out. Oh yeah that was great, Jescele laughed bringing herself back to the ground, but ever since that night I changed her back to sixteen and she got raped she never went out again. A hushed silence settled around them. It was my fault. I made her young again. Jescele remained quiet about blaming herself but she truly felt it wad her fault. Hey why dont we get back to training, Xenta suggested. Sure, Jescele shot a blast at her as she dodged one Jescele sent down at her. Suddenly a cell phone ran catching Xentas attention. Jescele took this time to blast at her head on. As the blast neared Xenta she seemed not to move. Just before it hit her she vanished at the blast hit the wall. Xenta reappeared near the door at their stuff. Jescele your phone, Xenta held up a gray phone with purple buttons. Jescele appeared by her side and grabbed the phone. Its Godog, she smiled flying up to have some privacy. Here we go again. Xenta grabbed her bag and went over to the punching bag. She dropped her bag and started lightly boxing with the bag. Jescele floated around aimlessly talking to Godog. It was a good hour later when the two should have been done but they were still in the same place doing the same things. Xenta threw another punch at the bag before grabbing her water for a drink. Jescele come on hurry up or Im gonna leave, Xenta yelled up to her friend. Jescele stopped drifting and looked down motioning for five more minutes. Alright, Xenta rolled her eyes and started beating the bag again. At the fifteen-minute mark Jescele was still on her cell. I should know better. She always does this to me. Xenta punched some more to cool off. She needed to get the anticipation out of her system. As she was throwing her last punch her cell phone ran through the silence. She picked it up calmly and continued hitting the bag. Xenta here, she said into her phone. Hi, Puartas voice came. Xentas punches began to become harder. So whats up, Xenta asked. Well I got your test back, Puarta said solemnly. Its not my liver is it, Xenta asked. At the sound of the word liver Jescele snapped out of her conversation with Godog. No, Puarta laughed and a sense of relief entered Xentas mind, but you should give up drinking for awhile. Why, Xenta asked now worried. I scheduled you to come in, in about a month, Puarta went on. Why, Xenta asked again. Because youre pregnant, Puarta said hanging up before Xenta could answer. Anies that Justta, Xenta screamed as she dropped her phone and started killing the punching bag. Her energy levels flared off the charts. As Jescele relaxed she was hit with a wave of energy knocking her to the ground. She shot and angry glare at Xenta for disrupting her conversation. She saw Xenta punching the life out of the new punching bag. As the bag began to rip Xenta sent an energy blast at it. As the sand hit Jescele Xenta plopped down on the ground in a depressing manner. Ive gotta go, Jescele hung up her phone and went over to Xenta. She looked at her with concern. Whats the matter, Jescele asked sitting down next to Xenta, who was that? Puarta, she whispered. Whatd she say, Jescele wanted to know. I cant drink for awhile, Xenta said a little dazed. What why, Jescele exploded, its not your liver is it? No. Then what? Why me, Xenta asked, this is not supposed to happen! Not again. This cant happen to me again! I left that life back at home. I dont even know whats wrong, Jescele, reminded her. Xenta lifted her head to look Jescele in the eyes. Jescele could see the tears fighting to fall. And I cant tell him! Hed go crazy, Xenta went on, no one can know! You cant tell anyone! Tell what? I dont even know, Jescele said. Do you really want to share my pain, Xenta asked, We dont need another Bulma and Chibi! What is going on, Jescele demanded. Im pregnant Jescele. Im going to have a baby. Vegetas baby, Xenta yelled, her teats finally falling. Shock hit Jescele as Xentas words sunk in. Vegetas, Xenta whispered, of all people him. Even Kohl would have been better but Vegeta. Vegeta sat by the pool listening to his cd player. He was enjoying being alone outside of his room or changing. See this is the way life should be. Me alone without all the distractions. He closed his eyes and drifted into a light sleep. His dream was going great. Mysteriously he chanced after some woman clocked in darkness. He couldnt see who she was but he knew he wanted her. Suddenly she turned and stopped beckoning him to her but he couldnt move. Something had his foot and wouldnt let go. He was ripped out of his dream by the feeling of something on his foot. He opened his eyes to see a baby clamped onto his foot. What do you think you are doing, he grabbed the child by his collar to toss him away. Vegeta no, Bulma screamed running to take the child, leave him alone. What the hell is it doing here, he spat. His name is Orli, and hes my friends son, Bulma corrected him, Im baby-sitting for her, well Xenta was supposed to but she and Jescele had plans. So you felt inclined to watch the brat, Vegeta stood up, Orli what kind of name is that anyway? Bulma ignored him and left. Vegeta grabbed his cd player and headed back inside. Curse that baka! She always has to ruin my fun, her or the other one. I think Ill go train in the gravity chamber. He walked to the gravity room but stopped outside. What am I going to do Jescele, he heard Xenta asked, I cant tell him! And you know I cant handle this alone. You have to tell him, Jescele argued, he deserves to know, and you never know he might be ok with it and its the best for both I mean all of you. No Im not going to, Xenta reused, at least not now. I want to wait and see how things turn out. Fine how long do you have, Jescele asked. Six months give or take a week, Xenta sighed, give me 3 months then Ill tell him. Fine, now come on, the door opened and they walked out, I want to-oh hey Vegeta! he huffed at them and pushed past them. See thats why he cant know, Xenta pointed out as she headed down the hall. Maybe this will change him, Jescele suggested. Vegeta will never change, Xenta continued walking. At least not by something I do. Natalie sat at a table down in the club. It was very quiet in the daytime but she wanted silence. What am I going to do? Miari has no idea that Ive actually gone farther with his younger self then he thinks. After all he is a different future then we are trying for. What had happened to us? A part of me wants this and a part of me doesnt. What am I going to do, she asked herself sighing loudly. Youre going to have this baby, she heard a very familiar voice. Her head shot up to see who was there. Who are you, Natalie asked the hooded figure in front of her. My name is Lzika, the hooded woman said, and Ive come to undo what Miari has undone. What are you talking about, Natalie asked. He came here to tell you about his little fling, Lzika stated firmly, so you will not be mad at Chibi. But in doing so he could mess with the life Ive grown to love. I was waiting for you to arrive, Natalie said looking down, I figured that with Miari poking around that you would be here to make sure things were not changed. He doesnt realize your side of this. I couldnt tell him the truth because he was leaving. It is his job to right the wrongs of our time. If he knew the truth he would be preoccupied, Lzika to her. Are you happy, Natalie dared to ask. The happiest Ive been since, well you know what happened that brought the club into existence, Lzika said, but I am happy. Natalie nodded in understanding. I must be leaving you child, Lzika said, but I shall return and next time he will be with me. Just dont say anything. She backed into the shadows and was gone. Its a boy, Natalie whispered staring off into the shadows. |
