Mystery Meal
Great green globs of
Why My Homework is Late
Broke my nose.
greasy, grimy gopher guts,
mutilated monkey meat,
little birdies' dirty feet-
Hot school lunches
aren't fit for kids to eat,
so pass the ketchup please!

Stubbed my toe.
Dropped my notebook in the snow.
Roof blew off.
Walls caved in.
Rusty scissors stabbed my chin.
Bit my tongue.
Choked on bones.
Caught a cold and kidney stones.
Had a boil.
Had a blister.
Had to babysit my sister.
Had the measles.
Had the pox.
Tonsils swelled up big as rocks.
Lost my watch.
Forgot the date.
and that is why my homework's late!
