U-Rate-It is a site which will pay you for writing brief, or longer, reviews about the products and services you use! Yes, that's right, they will pay you cash for writing about just about anything you can purchase and if you can't find it in the database already, then you can add it and away you go!

How does it work? Simple. If you can write a few words on your favorite, or not so favorite, DVD, book, film, shampoo, toothpaste, shower gel, internet site...whatever...then you can be rewarded for doing so. Some categories such as DVDs and computer games reward you on a pay-per-read basis, so that you earn money every time someone reads your review, others earn you tokens which are automatically entered into very regular prize draws for cash and prizes.

If you have used any of the other similar sites online such as Epinions or Ciao then you will be somewhat familiar with the format, everyone else will find it pretty self-explanatory when they sign up. Oh it's completely free to register by the way and you get £1 automatically paid into your account when you do sign up by the way so even more reason to get your butt over there. ;o) They promise to never spam you with junk mail or even to put pop-ups on their site and in over 6 months of membership I can assure you that they have been true to their word on that score. Members of other similar sites may find that in itself somewhat refreshing!

If writing product reviews doesn't really sound that exciting then this is where U-Rate-It differs from the others because you can also write about pretty much anything you feel like. If you have poetry, personal experiences, advice, anything like that then you can share it here and still earn tokens and therefore prize draw entries for doing so. All the other sites I have come across in the same vein as U-Rate-It have been rather restrictive in what you can write about but here you can share your views and opinions and have them read by like-minded(or otherwise!) people.

Regular users of U-Rate-It also comment very highly on the community aspect of the site. There is a friendly vibrant community of users from around the world here and the site does much to foster this community interaction. If you write something here you will almost certainly receive feedback on it from other members and there are many fun features where you can get to know other members such as an integrated chatroom, message forum, personal guestbooks and a weekly quiz held in a special Java quiz room amongst other things.
