Mystery shopping is something most, if not all, reading this will be aware of in the real world but were you aware you can also become an online mystery shopper? In some senses this is what all website testing and reviewing is but this site takes in all aspects of the mystery shopping experience by requiring you to actually make purchases from sites(refundable of course!), deal with customer service by making email or telephone enquiries etc. as well as evaluating the site itself. A typical assignment here takes around an hour and pays approx. $10-$15 although of course this will vary with each assignment. In addition to this, if you have visited a website and found something particularly annoying or confusing and tell Web Mystery Shopping about this site via a quick email, then you stand to earn another $25 if that company then goes on to request the site's services! Open to French and British reviewers only. This is a French site which offers paid website testing opportunities throughout France and the United Kingdom. Site reviewers are required to download a small piece of browser software which resembles Internet Explorer with a space age theme(you'll be termed an "Internaut" so I guess it fits lol) and be requested to attend live website tests at a set time each week. Each test has around 15 minutes allocated to it although in reality each takes less than 5 minutes and you will be paid Ù0.60 for each site tested(typically there are two or three per session). The only gripe is that you have to be 'around' at the time of the tests which have varied over the months from anything to 4pm in the afternoon to 9pm at night...and remembering to turn up on time is a real pain even if you are free! Note The tests are currently suspended for unspecified reasons but we are assured they will return soon...
Visitor Friendly has been around for some time now and used to be a lot more active than it is today...at least in my experience anyway! The format is the same as the others in this section - you review websites and the services they offer and they pay you cash after your effort have been checked for their validity. Rewards for doing this vary, but seem to be around £2 per review although do not expect to get too many invitations from this site...my last one was in January 2003.
CatSnip.com is looking for people to review business websites and provide valuable feedback and suggestions for the owners. As a site reviewer you will need to visit sites and give detailed feedback on your impressions etc. for which you will be paid $3.50 for your time if your review is approved(so do it properly!). Payment is made through PayPal within 48 hours of approval so you will need to have an account with them to get paid by this one. CatSnip also pays a $10 bounty(through a head-scratchingly confusing referral system) for every company you refer to them who goes on to decide to have their own site reviewed. Go there!
