The busiest consumer website in the UK and for good reason. Not only does Ciao! offer regular paid surveys to its members but also allows them to express their opinions on anything from a chocolate bar to a 140ft yacht by writing reviews and be paid for doing so! Yes, that's right, you can write 120+ words(for that is the minimum they impose) on something as silly as a Mars bar at Ciao! and be paid every time another member reads it!

There are two sections to the site. Surveys and Opinions.

You get paid anything from 50p to £15 for each survey they send you and you can expect to be sent 1 or 2 a month as a typical benchmark but more is possible, as is less depending upon who their clients are that month. You must fully complete your member profile to be eligible for these. The more information they have about you, the better they can target surveys at you which match their clients' demographic requirements. On you profile page you'll find a link on the left called "Your member profile", click this and make sure you have filled all the fields out in this section and you're all set to sit back and wait for surveys. When your account reaches £5 or more then you can cash out - simple.

The non-survey style opinionating section of the site is where you'll find most activity at Ciao and a thriving community of friendly people too for that matter. I would encourage anyone signing up to the survey section to at least dip their toes in the paid opinion/review section of the site(signing up to one automatically gives you access to the other) where you can share your experience of products and services, get paid for sharing opinions and meet some rather nice people in the process. Hacked off with your ISP? Want to tell people about your favourite film? Want to recommed a website? Ciao! is the place to do it and better still, you'll earn from doing so and it can easily pay better than their survey section.

You can earn up to £20 for just one opinion given here(as opposed to a few Ùpounds per survey) depending upon its quality and how many people read it but typically you are looking for an opinion to earn around 30p to £1. It doesn't sound like much but when you're talking about 120 words+ on something as silly as a chocolate bar(etc.) earning you at least 30p-£1 then it's easy money really isn't it? This paragraph is around 180 words to give you some idea of how little effort is involved! Some reviews will earn you money every time someone reads it, others will earn nothing for reads but become elligible for what ciao calls their "Premium Fund" which is a pot of around £1100 which is spread around the best of the other opinions at the end of each month...or around the middle of the next month as it usually tends to be. This section of the site takes a bit of getting used to but once you have then it is very rewarding to be a part of.

There are a few do's and dont's at Ciao! which you are better off knowing now. Submissions to the opinion section must be YOUR opinion, not copied off of another website or you will be kicked off the site. They don't want to be sued for copyright theft and I guess you don't either. Also, you are only allowed to submit a maximum of 3 opinions each day into the opinion section...this was imposed a while ago to ensure at least some quality was maintained in the reviews they received. Each review is graded for usefulnes by other Ciao! members but truth be told, there are no professional writers on here and all opinions are as valid as each other, just write, earn and enjoy - but don't submit more than 3 a day and don't cut and paste from other sites...

By combining the surveys they send me with a few forays into the opinion section each month I tend to earn between £10 and £20 a month at Ciao! which can't be bad eh? Certainly pays for your internet subscription fee straight away and if nothing else, as many will tell you, it's also kinda fun and becomes rather addictive.
