La Yuqwam Miniatures Horses established breeding in 1990 with the purchase of a particular
bloodline that had generations of Welsh and Australian Pony breeding crossed with small,
fine boned Shetland Ponies. Many of the horses La Yuqwam purchased had very little Shetland
blood, in most cases, generations back. These bloodlines have proved to produce extreme
fine boned horse type (mostly bay!) with elegant refined neck and expressive heads.
One of the most successful breeding programes of this 'Bay Line' is present at Tiny Toy Stud in
Queensland. Tiny Toy has retained many of the original La Yuqwam bay line mares, and crossed
them over American Stallions such as Roy's Toy Snippets Silverado (imp USA) and 4 G's Fullers
Equalizer (imp USA). This breeding has produced some of Australias top show horses to date.
