This is my abstract photo assignment.  Out of the 25 or so pictures I shot, this is the one I love the most.  In my photo class, we only got to print up one picture, so basically, you had to choose very carefully the picture you wanted to print.  My teacher agreed with me that this photo would work out great, and it did.  There are a few scratches on the actual print, but with the magic of photo enhancement software, I eliminated them.  Anyway, on to the story of what composes this photo.  The face, as you can tell, is not real.  I don't think a real face would have fit in the bookcase unless I drilled a big hole in the wall of my house and someone stuck their face in.  The face is a mask my older sister made when she was in middle school.  I wedged it into the National Geographic magazines where they were all falling over, and voila, out came my abstract photo.  On the negative, the picture is a lot bigger; more of the magazines show up than what you see here.  This is the fun thing about printing your own pictures...you can crop out anything you want and bring up just one particular area on an enlarger in the darkroom.  I think that is my favorite part of photography...being in the darkroom and manipulating photos.
