(Scully talks to the doctor)
<Scully> Can you tell me anything else about his condition? Was the coma brought on by the gunshot wound?
<Doctor> Well, the bullet entered his right shoulder,and hit an artery and since he lost so much blood that caused the coma.
<Scully> (standing with arms folded) What's his prognosis?
<Doctor> Well, I wouldn't worry if I were you...We do expect a full recovery. he's just going to need some time to recover. We're basically just waiting for him to regain conciousness...we gave him a transfusion, I think that will help him.
<Scully> Thank you Doctor! Please keep me informed! I need to get in touch with our other partners and let them know, please excuse me.
<Doctor> (Doc) No problem, Ms Scully. (walks away)
(Scully walks to a more private area and pulls out her cellphone and presses speed dial 1)

(Mulder's phone ringing)
<Mulder> (answers) Mulder.
<Scully> Mulder, it's me.
<Mulder> Scully, how's he doing? (motions to Reyes to telling her it's Scully)
<Scully> Not so good right now. If you and Reyes can manage it, you might want to come here.
<Mulder> Is it serious?
<Scully> He was shot in the right shoulder, and due to blood loss, is now in a coma. The doctor's are hopeful that he will make a full recovery. Reyes being his official partner should really be the ones making the decisions for him. . .
<Mulder> I see. Well, we just finished up here so we'll see you in couple of hours. Is there anything else you need me to do?
<Scully> Right now if you could just get here, and bring some good coffee.You know how the stuff in the lounges always are (with a smile)
<Mulder> Ok, that i can handle. Um, Scully? have you talked to your Mom? I mean, how's our boy?
<Scully> OH NO, in all the confusion with Doggett , I haven't even thought of calling. I'll do that in a minute.
<Mulder> Scully, don't beat urself up...that's understandable.
<Mulder> I can check on him if you want.
<Scully> That's ok, I want to talk to mom, just get here safely, no speeding!
<Mulder> I'm on my way. (hangs up)

<Mulder> (to Reyes) Doggett's in a coma...but they think he's going to make it.
<Reyes> That's good. How's Scully? Are we going to go? I mean that's good that they think he will make it
<Mulder> Yeah, she thinks we should get there asap.
<Reyes> She would know, so let's go. I can write the notes from Mr. Fry's interview on the way. You want to drive?
<Mulder> Yeah, I'll drive. (they exit together)
<Reyes> (as they are walking to the car) How was Scully when you talked to her? I mean, I know she wasn't back to full time when we asked for both of your help on this case.
<Mulder> She's ok...not that she would ever complain.
<Reyes> I'm sure you will be happy when we get there, and you can make sure she's fine, right?
(Mulder smiles at Reyes and Reyes smiles back)
<Reyes> Did she need us to bring her anything?
<Mulder> You know, Agt. Reyes... I never got a chance to really thank you for everything you've done to help us. I mean, with William's birth and all. We owe you big time.
<Reyes> I was happy to help. I'm glad you felt you could trust me enough to take Scully somewhere without you knowing where. William's great. You and Scully are very lucky.
<Mulder> <Mulder> Yeah, he is a great kid. Under the circumstances, it was the best thing I thought I could do at the time. I do regret not being there when I really needed to be though. I'll always wonder what that was like. (looks ahead
sadly.)
<Reyes> Agent Mulder, I wish there was something I could say that would make this better for you. You're going to have enough on your hands being a dad. I'm happy I won't be there for the "terrible twos". I've seen Scully when she's on a roll, and the stories I've heard about you-William is going to be a handful! (smiles, trying to cheer him a little)
<Mulder> (laughs) Aw, come on, it can't be as bad as they say it is...not with Wil.
<Reyes> (smiles) You're biased Agent Mulder! You're going to be the softy, and leave Scully to make the rules.
<Mulder> (smiling) What's wrong with that?
<Reyes> (shakes her head, smiling) I take back what I said Scully has two children.
<Mulder> What about you, Agt. Reyes? Looking to start a family in the near future?
<Reyes> I would like to someday. Need to find the right person though.
<Mulder> of course...
<Reyes> ...How far are we from the hospital anyway? How long until we get there?
<Mulder> Um...we still have about an hour. Now's a good time for a nap if u want.
<Reyes> I haven't had luck in that department so far. I'm alright, so if you want  me to take over driving, let me know.
<Mulder> No, i'm ok...I don't require much sleep, but you've been up for over 32 hours, you might want to take me up on that offer.
<Reyes> Well if you insist-I'm sure Scully will need sleep when we get there-  maybe I can relieve her.
(Mulder continues driving, now slient)

(Scully sits in chair besides Doggett's hospital bed...Doggett is waking up)
(Scully leans her head back towards the window and sleeps. She hears some movement from Doggett's bed, and gets up to
stand next to the bed)
(Doggett turns his head towards Scully and opens his eyes)
<Scully> (Scully with a smile) Welcome back Agent Doggett.
<Doggett (groans) Ooh, I don't feel so cheery, Agt. Scully. How long have I been out?
<Scully> Just relax, Doggett. You gave us quite a scare. You've been unconscious for almost eight hours. Do you remember what happened?
<Doggett> Um, yeah...sort of. Did the susoect get hurt?
<Scully> He was shot as well. I haven't found out how serious he is yet. He is being watched under custody.
<Scully> The local police wanted to know what we want to charge him with? Right now, they are satisfied with holding him
for assaulting a federal officer.
<Doggett> (nervously) Is he here in this hospital?
<Scully> As far as I know he is being held on another floor. Just relax.
<Doggett> (looking up at the ceiling, hands shaking) This...
(Mulder & Reyes enter the hospital room)
<Doggett> This just doesn't...
<Mulder> Agent Doggett...you're awake!
<Reyes> Thank goodness John, is everything alright?
<Doggett> (shaking away the nervousness)  Huh, yeah.
<Scully> You were saying something doesn't. . . What?
<Doggett> I don't remember...
<Mulder> Scully? What's he talking about?
<Doggett> (beginning to shake violently) Scully, help me. Don't let him get me. Please!
<Scully> (alarmed )Whoa, wait a minute, Doggett, calm down!
<Reyes> John, we are all here to help. Agents Mulder, Scully and I will do everything we can to help.
<Doggett> (convulsing on the bed) YOU RAT!!!  I'M GONNA GET....
<Reyes> (runs to the door) WE NEED A DOCTOR HERE NOW!
