(Early morning...the escalading sounds of a baby crying can be heard as M&S sleep)
<Scully> (tossing and turning) Ummm, I'll get him.
<Mulder> (asks half-asleep) Is it your turn or mine?
<Scully> (sits up) I don't know...I'll get him...we have an appointment this morning.
<Mulder> (rolls over to look at Scully) Ok. I'm going to get in the shower.
<Scully> (gets up and walks over to William's baskinette) Hey, baby. Shhh, mama's here. (picks him up) I know, I know.
<Mulder> (walks over to Scully and William) Hey there, little slugger. He seems a little grumpy this morning.
<Scully> Mulder, you can go back to sleep. We're ok.(goes over to rocking chair and sits down and starts nursing him)
<Mulder> That's okay, I need to get a shower. We have a big day ahead of us. (walks towards the bathroom) Let me know if you need me.
<Scully> Ok , then.
<Mulder> (disappears to the shower)
(the phone rings)
<Scully> Can you grab that Mulder?
<Mulder> (walking in wearing a towel) Sure.  Hello...Scully, it's Doggett...Yes...I know.
<Scully> (he passes the phone to her and she takes it awkwardly) Hello.
<Mulder> We're going to be out the door in a few.  We're just waking up.(interrupting her conversation) What is it, Scully?
<Scully> Ok, no, that's fine...talk to you then. (hangs up the phone)
<Mulder> What is it?
<Scully> He wanted me to look over that autopsy report.
<Mulder> When do we leave? Will your mother mind taking care of William while we're gone?
<Mulder> (looking antsy)
<Scully> Not at all...Are you going with us? Because after William's appt, I was going to drop Wil off and have lunch with my Mom, but I told him I could do it this afternoon.
<Mulder> Do you want me to go? (looking lovingly at William) I would love to go.
<Scully> Well, of course I do, Mulder.
<Mulder> Allright, let me get ready.
<Scully> I just thought that you were going to see the Gunmen this morning, that's all.
<Mulder> Oh, yeah, that's right.  They're expecting me. Well, it looks like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. The Gunmen seem to think they can find some information on the case that will help. Frohike seemed really excited to talk to me.
<Scully> Well, you don't have to go to every check-up he has Mulder, although we appreciate it. If the gunmen can help... Doggett will appreciate it.
<Mulder> (looking a little disapointed) Well, I'll go see the Gunmen. Are you sure you will be okay going alone?
<Scully> Yeah, Mulder, We'll be fine. I'm looking forward to some fresh air.
<Mulder> Yes, and I'm looking forward to finding out what's really going on with this case. And if the gunmen can help, that's all the better.
<Scully> (the baby seems to be finished) Well, I guess he's done.. We better start getting ready too.
<Mulder> (looking down at the towel around his waist) Well, I'll go ahead and get in the shower and get over to the gunmen's place.(makes a second attempt to go back to the bathroom)
<Scully> (nods) You want some breakfast?
<Mulder> No, I'm not feeling very hungry this morning. (heads towards Scully)  But I would like one thing....
<Scully> Ok...(hesitant) Mulder...are you ok?
<Mulder> (looking away) I'm fine.
<Scully> What were you going to say?
<Mulder> (hesitantly) Well, I was just going to ask for a kiss..
<Scully> (relieved) Oh, I see...
<Mulder> From you and William.
<Scully> (walks over with William and kisses him)
<Mulder> (smiles at the thought of the happiness in front of him)
<Scully> (blushes) Ok, then...go shower already.
<Mulder> (grins like a little kid) Alright. (disapears to the bathroom)

<Scully> (walks William into the other room)
<Mrs. Scully> How's my grandson this morning?
<Scully> Mom! what are you doing here? You scared me.
<Mrs. Scully> I'm sorry. I just came by to drop off some breakfast and to see my grandson. Is that okay with you?
<Scully> Of course, Mom...How are you?
<Mrs. Scully> I'm fine. Now let me take William. Why don't you sit down and eat some breakfast? By the way, you look tired.  What's wrong, Dana?
<Scully> (sits down) Mom, you didn't have to do that...Would you like some coffee. Um, everything is fine... why?
<Mrs. Scully> Thank you, Dana, but no. I just came by to check on you and William. I'm not staying long.You just have that distracted look you get when you have a million things on your mind.
<Scully> Well, I do actually. I've been asked to help with a new case.
<Mrs. Scully> (rocking William and looking at Scully intently) Are you sure you can handle this right now?
<Scully> Yeah, it's ok...but I am kind of worried about Mulder too.
<Mrs. Scully> Are you and him okay?
<Scully> Yes, Mom...we're fine, really...it's just that he's helping with the case too, but he isn't officially on the X-Files anymore and I don't want him to get too involved.
<Mrs. Scully> Well, I'm sure that you two can handle it. You've been through alot together.
<Scully> Yes, we have...and I want us to continue to be there for William's sake.
<Mrs. Scully> (putting William in his craddle) I'm going to warm him up a bottle. He looks hungry. Is there anything else you need before I leave?
<Mrs. Scully> I'm sure everything will be okay.  Just be careful.
<Scully> No, thanks, Mom...He shouldn't be hungry , Mom, I just nursed him before you came in.
<Mrs. Scully> Allright, Dana. Well, I have some errands to run. Let me know if you need anything. And tell Mulder I said hi.
<Scully> Ok, Mom...um, will you still be able to babysit for us today? I thought we could have lunch if I have time
<Mrs. Scully> Sure, Dana, anything I can do to be of help. That would be great.
<Scully> Thanks, Mom. I really appreciate this. I'll see around 11 then?
<Mrs. Scully> (heading over toward's William's craddle to give him a kiss) I'll see you then. Goodbye, my beautiful grandson.
<Scully> Bye, Mom (walks her to the door)
<Mrs. Scully> (heading towards the door) Bye, Dana.
<Mulder>(walks out in his towel)  Who was that?
<Scully> You just missed my Mom. She brought breakfast
<Mulder> Oh no. That was nice of her.  How is she?
<Scully> She's fine. She said hello.
<Mulder> (looking at the breakfast with absolutely no hunger) Are you having lunch with her before you go to do the autopsy?
<Scully> Yeah...well, i'm going to hop in the shower...can you handle the baby?
<Mulder> Sure.  Go ahead.
<Scully> Thanks (she walks away to the bathroom)
<Mulder> (Pulls up a chair next to William) Hey there. Wanna hang out with your dad?
<Scully> (William smiles and coos)
<Mulder> (picks up William) Yeah, you like hangin' with your ol' dad, don't ya?
