(The doctor exits Doggetts room)
<Doctor> (to Reyes) You can go in now, if you like.
<Reyes> (stands qucikly) Thank you. How is he doing?
<Doctor> He'll recover fully. He just needs a few days off of his feet.
<Reyes/Doggett> That won't be a problem. Thank you again. (holds out hand to shake his before going to Doggett's room)
<Reyes> (walks over to the chair by the bed) John? How are you feeling?
<Doggett> Agent Reyes- I didn't know you were still here. I thought you all left.
<Doggett> I feel better than earlier. Whatever they give you in these IV's is good.
<Doggett> Where are Mulder and Scully?
<Reyes> Scully went to the motel to get some rest, she was practicaly asleep on her feet. Mulder had to force her to leave, and Mulder is upstairs talking to Tabrizi.

<Mulder> (Mulder sits down in the chair next to Tabrizi's bed) I assure you, Mr. Tabrizi...you are in good hands. We're not going to let anything happen to you. Now, what did you want to tell me?
<Tabrizi> I know who committed the murders.
<Mulder> Go on.
<Tabrizi> He was a friend, and old friend of mine...we grew up together.
<Mulder> What do you mean, he was?
<Tabrizi> He's dead now, of course.
<Mulder>Wait a minute, how did this happen?
<Tabrizi> I killed him.
<Mulder> And when exactkly did you do that?
<Tabrizi> Three months ago.
<Mulder> I'm not understanding...you told me that you could tell me who it is? The murders didn't even start until last month.
<Tabrizi> But that's where you're wrong, Mr. Mulder. They started 10 years ago...I just stopped him recently.
<Mulder> (getting angry) Then who murdered those kids?!
<Tabrizi> He did...through me.
<Mulder> I see where this is going...somehow he's inside of you, making you murder these kids.
<Tabrizi> No, I've been trying to pay for his crimes.
<Mulder> What?
<Tabrizi> (I murdered those kids...they had something that I needed. I just didn't realize it until it was too late.
<Mulder> Are you admitting to the murders now?
<Tabrizi> No, but I will after I'm finished.. (Tabrizi jumps out of the bed and puts Mulder in a choke hold. Mulder tries to fight back and is unsuccessful as he hits his head on an oxygen tank in the corner. Tabrizi then takes Mulder's gun from him and points it at him...he doesn't need to use it though as Mulder is now unconscious)

<Reyes> ( looks up at the clock in Doggett's room) Mulder has been gone way too long. He was supposed to be quick. I'm
    going to run up and see what is going on. I'll stop by before we leave, ok?
<Doggett> (nods and gives a little wave)

(Tabrizi pulls Mulder over to the side of the hospital bed and begins taking off Mulder's shoes....he pulls out a surgical knife and prepares to slice him in the foot area...)

<Reyes> (stands outside Tabrizi's room -Knocks and calls Mulder's name)
<Reyes> Agent Mulder? Is everything alright?
<Tabrizi> (hears her and panics) Uh...come in! (pulls out Mulder's gun and points it at the door)
<Reyes> (walks in slowly scanning the room for Mulder)
 (pointing the gun at Reyes) Come on inside...turn around and put your hands in the air!
<Reyes> (does as asked, and inwardly cringes at not being able to get to her gun)
<Tabrizi> That's right, throw me your gun.
<Reyes> (moves slowly and complies) What did you do to Mulder?
<Reyes> (trying to stay calm) Tell me what's going on here?
<Tabrizi> He just hit his head. Where's Agent Doggett?
Reyes> He's in his room recovering from his injuries. Why are Mulder's shoes on the floor, if he hit his head?
<Tabrizi> I need to speak to Agent Doggett!
<Reyes> Agent Doggett is in no condition to get up here. Why don't you tell me, and I'll pass a message on to him
<Tabrizi> Don't you worry your pretty little head about it...I told you, I need to speak to Agt. Doggett...If I don't I'm going to start cutting off one toe at a time...you hear me?
<Reyes> I can get a message to him, but you need to leave Mulder alone.
<Tabrizi> It's about his son...I know who killed him.
<Reyes> What would you know about Luke?
<Tabrizi> You don't understand lady! I know who murdered him...and he's going to get away with it forever if the police get me...I need to speak with Doggett.
<Reyes> Well it might take some time to find a way for him to get up here.
<Tabrizi> Well, it better be fast for this man's sake. (looking down at Mulder)
<Reyes> I'd have to go talk to his doctor if you're adamant about speaking to him. Why wouldn't you tell him when he talked to you, instead of running?
<Tabrizi> I don't know what you're talking about.
<Reyes/Doggett> My cellphone is down in his room, so i can't just call down there.
 <Tabrizi> Pick up the hospital line.
<Reyes> Mr Tabrizi, there is no need to hurt anyone else
<Tabrizi> You don't understand.
<Reyes> I'm trying to find a way to help you.
<Tabrizi> I have to have all my parts to make him pay!
<Reyes> (confused, but she walks over to the phone, and dials Doggett's doctor)
<Reyes> (one sided conversation) Yes, this is Agent Monica Reyes-John's partner.  I need to make arrangments for Agent Doggett to come up to room 315. I know it sounds strange, but this is extremely important.
(Mulder begins to wake up)
<Mulder> (groans)
<Reyes> The sooner you can arrange that the better. Thank you.(hangs up) The doctor is going to do everything he can to get him up here in 10 minutes.
<Tabrizi> Good, it's about time.
<Reyes> Agent Mulder? (kneels next to him)
<Mulder> Yeah...where's Tabrizi?
<Tabrizi> I'm right here! (points the gun at both of them)
<Mulder> (notices that his shoe is off) (to Tabrizi) You son of a bitch!
<Reyes> (Reyes tries to move in front of Mulder until his bearing is better)
<Reyes> Let Agnet Mulder go.
<Tabrizi> Just a little insurance so that Agent Doggett will come. Be quiet.
<Reyes> Agent Mulder, I mean. You don't need both of us.
<Reyes> Mulder needs his injury taken care of. I'll stay...
<Tabrizi> ...I don't trust any of you! I don't want to go to jail...where is he?!
<Reyes> You'll have a better chance of not going to jail, if you put down the gun.
<Tabrizi> Stop trying to tell me what to do!
<Reyes> He is on his way - he was in a coma not long ago - he's not able to just get up and walk.
<Mulder> Agent Reyes..it's ok, I'm ok...let's just give him what he wants.
<Reyes> (quiets down after that) Would you like me to call to find out what's taking so long?
<Tabrizi> Yes, find out.
<Mulder> (to Tabrizi) You were trying to tell me what happened with your friend, want to finish?
<Reyes> (wonders if there is anyway she could call someone to let them know what is going on)
(at that moment, there is a loud knock on the door)

(An orderly is pushing in a wheelchair with a tired, pale John Doggett)
<Doggett> Reyes, why in the hell would you have me come up here?
<Tabrizi> (pointing gun at him) Agent Doggett...at last.
<Doggett> (He looks around the scene in wonder, and says what in the world in going on here?
<Tabrizi> (to Orderly) Get over there with the rest of them. (walks up to Doggett and pushes him forward)
<Doggett> If you're the one who wanted me to join the party - you can do so without the gun.
<Mulder> He said he would only talk to you.
<Doggett> You see I have a problem. I don't talk to people who use guns to get what they want. You want to talk to me, let them go, and we can talk....and put down the gun.
<Tabrizi> Ok, that's fair... (to others) You all can go.
<Mulder> Doggett, are you sure?
<Reyes> (But John. . . you know someone has to stay.
<Doggett>  It will be fine. It seems Mr Tabrizi has something he wants to say. Mulder needs some help.
<Doggett> (everyone leaves) (sarcastically) Alone at last!

<Tabrizi> (slowly puts the gun down on the nearby table) Agt. Doggett. I'm sorry for the hell i've put you through the last couple of days, but trust me, it's all been worth it. I know that you've been looking for the murderer of your son, Luke for a long time.
<Doggett> I appreciate the concern, but having been shot in the chest, and dragged out of my room. I'd like to know how it is "worth it".
<Doggett> What do you know about my son?
<Tabrizi> I know who murdered him...he was my best friend at one point.
<Doggett> And you wouldn't tell me this earlier why?
<Tabrizi> You don't understand...Steve, he's been haunting me or something...I can't explain it...when I attacked you, I thought you were him.
<Doggett> So who did it, and how can he be stopped?
<Tabrizi> His name was Steve, Steve Riley. Trust me when I say I've only wanted to get him back for all he's done. He also killed someone close to me. But now he's dead, and there's only one way to stop him.
<Doggett> And that is?
<Doggett> Are you trying to tell me that a dead man has been murdering children for the past month?
<Tabrizi> That's why I needed you here. I've been collecting the parts that he's taken from innocent people and I'm ready to redeem them for his crimes.
<Doggett> And I thought some of Mulder's ideas were insane.
<Tabrizi> I know this must sound crazy, but you've seen it for yourself. They told me that you were flipping out...you thought your friend was him. See, the same thing happened to me.
<Doggett> How was I supposed to know it was him? I don't know the person you are talking about.
<Tabrizi> It doesn't matter...he's the evil one...the one who takes things. But he's not going to take anything anymore.
<Doggett> Why not?
<Tabrizi> Because you're going to help me stop him.
<Doggett> I am? Just how am I supposed to do that?
<Tabrizi> You'll know soon enough.(digs in his pocket and hands over a small
    book to Doggett ...and then he gives his gun to Doggett)
<Doggett>You said you want to redeem for his crimes. How are you planning on doing that? You can't tell me anything other than you'll know. I need more information than that.
<Tabrizi> Like I said, you'll understand soon enough. I'm sorry about your son. (he suddenly charges for Doggett)
 (In reaction Doggett  fires the gun and the bullet hits Tabrizi in the arm. Tabrizi gets up and charges at him again...this time with his knife)
<Doggett> Don't make me fire again Tabrizi!
(Tabrizi keeps coming. Doggett is forced to pull the trigger again, but this time the bullet hits him in his chest and he falls to the ground)
(Reyes runs in at the sound of the last shot followed by Mulder)
<Tabrizi> (to Doggett) Don't let them save me...it's  the only way.
<Reyes> John, are you alright? (calls out load) We need a dcotor in here!
<Doggett> Agent Reyes, leave it alone. It's better this way. Everything is finally over.
<Doggett> My son can finally rest in peace.
(They all look at each other and then at Tabrizi...he looks like someone else altogether. The look of shock is on all of their faces)
