<Skinner> (Sits in office reading over some files)
<Doggett> (approaches Skinner's office)
<Doggett> Anything interesting?
<Skinner> Oh, come in Agent Doggett...have a seat.
<Doggett> Thank you.
<Doggett> (sits)
<Skinner> I was going over the Wesley case...were you able to get
Scully's findings on it before...well, before her leave?
<Doggett> We discussed a little before her leave, but I didn't get
all of the details.
<Doggett> Do you have time to go over them?
<Doggett> I'd like a little refresher, if you don't mind.
<Doggett> (looks at Skinner's coffee cup)
<Skinner> Well, it's nothing important, but I will need the autopsy
report within the week. The Sheriffs down in Arizona have been asking for
a follow-up for their records.
<Doggett> Can you tell me your thoughts on what happened sir?
<Skinner> I have no idea Agent, that's why I was asking you for
the reports...don't worry about it we'll straighten it out when Scully
get's back
<Skinner> How's Agent Reyes working out?
<Doggett> She's working out just fine.
<Doggett> She's asking if she needs to go to Arizona.
<Doggett> We were thinking about taking a trip there to further
investigate.
<Skinner> I don't think it's necessary.
<Skinner> Don't you have any more pressing cases?
<Doggett> Well, there is one.
<Skinner> (looks interested)
<Doggett> I got a file on a case in Salem, Mass. It looks pretty
open and shut but Reyes seems to think that it's cult related.
<Skinner> What do you think?
<Doggett> Well, the down is run with witches, but that's not really
the problem.
<Skinner> I don't understand.
<Doggett> There have been 4 murders there in the last month. All
of the victims were female, and were very open about practicing witchcraft
and...
<Skinner> ...Sounds like this case will be right up Agent Reye's
alley. I'm sorry, go ahead.
<Doggett> Definately. Well, there's a twist...a religious group
moved to Salem about the same time the first women was killed. The woman
who was killed had strange markings carved into her.
<Skinner> What kind of religious group?
<Doggett> Well, they're Christians. It seems normal to me. Reyes
seems to think it's a cult.
<Skinner> Well, sounds like something that definitely needs to be
investigated...send up the 302 and i'll sign off on it.
<Doggett> Yes, sir. Oh, sir
<Skinner> Yes, Agent? One more thing...
<Skinner> (waits expectantly)
<Doggett> I'd like permission to investigate on the death of my
son. There seems to be some new developements. Reyes will come along with
me also, if that's okay.
<Skinner> Wait a minute, Agent Doggett...what exactly did you have
in mind? I mean, I've read the file on your son, but I was under the impression
that all avenues had been exhausted.
<Doggett> Well, there was a copy cat style murder there just a week
ago, it might have been the same person.
<Skinner> I'm assuming it was similar to your son's murder?
<Doggett> Yes. It was like a copy cat killing Sir.
<Skinner> I understand.
<Doggett> I believe with your help, we can get jurisdiction to go
there and see if we can find anything.
<Skinner> I'll see what I can do, but I don't want you working on
it alone.
<Doggett> I believe Reyes will be coming with me on this trip. And
sir, this won't in any way affect the other assignments that I have. I'm
giving you my word.
<Skinner> That's good, but let's put a raincheck on that 302 for
the Salem case for now...I know finding out what happened to your son is
priority.
<Doggett> Yes sir, thank you. Reyes and I will get right on it.
<Skinner> Oh, Agent Doggett...You might want to call in Mulder for
a consult...he's the best at profiling and he needs to keep busy.
<Doggett> That's a good idea.It's just that... Well (hesitantly)...
<Skinner> What's the matter?
<Doggett> I don't want anyone to jump to conclusions about this
being about alien abductions. I want to know hard facts. I want the person
responsible for this locked away. (looks away)
<Skinner> I don't think you have anything to worry about there.
I trust that between you Reyes and Mulder, you'll be able to come up with
the truth if it's to be found.
<Doggett> That's good, sir.
<Skinner> I hope you find the person responsible. When are you leaving?
<Doggett> I'll be leaving as soon as I can get in touch with Mulder,
and get a car...probably this afternoon.
<Skinner> That's fine...I'll expect a report in 24 hours.
<Skinner> (goes back to the files on his desk)
<Doggett> Will do, sir. Thank you.
<Skinner> Be careful, Agent
(Doggett exits Skinner's office)
