Feel like reminiscing? Take a look at what The X-Files has been going through since this site was created. :-)

Dates:  January 8, 2000 - May 27, 2000

Week ending on May 27th: Well, after seeing the SURPRISING season finale, we all know that this is going to be an
unusually long summer! Also any news will most likely be sparse for a while.  Anyway, here's the latest: David Duchovny told
Empire Online that his return to the cult TV series, would be briefer than fans were expecting. Previously reported episode
counts were as high as eleven, but Duchovny said that "it would be far less." Let's hope he's not serious.  Maybe the original
rumor that said that he would only be in 6 to 8 episodes is true after all? Let's hope not!

Week ending on May 20th:  So, it's been decided...THE X-FILES will return for an 8th Season!!! YAY! The big
three...Gillian Anderson, Chris Carter, and even David Duchovny will be back!  After torturing us for so long, Fox has finally
announced it officially.  David Duchovny has also settled his lawsuit against Fox, so not only will he get paid more, but he's only
doing 11 episodes.  Wow!  I knew it was a good reason to work in this business. :-)  Looks like Scully will be running things for
a while.:-)

Week ending on May 13th: There's not much to tell, as usual. Everyone's been talking about an interview with Fox
Executive, Sandy Grushow, where she says Fox definitely wants to bring the show back for another season, but they seem to
be unsure as to whether they return with or without David Duchovny.:-O  Well anyway, there's less than a week to go before
Fox announces it's fall lineup, so we should know something for sure by then.

Week ending on May 6th: Well, there's only 3 more episodes left and there's still no news to share:-(  I'm sorry, but it's
not my fault.:-(  Anyway, Gillian Anderson will be on Letterman on May 15th. So there's something to look forward to!:-)

Week ending on April 29nd: Well, of course there's still no word on the outcome of another season or not, but have no
fear...Fox plans to officially announce their fall schedule on May 18th, so you can bet that if The X-Files is returning, we will
hear about it then!  And if not, we will have just one last episode to say our good-byes:-(  But cheer up...it's almost certain that
we can look forward to the another movie. :-)

Week ending on April 22nd:  Sorry, nothing new this week philes.  Negotiations are still going on as usual, even though
shooting for the final episodes have already begun.  Chris Carter has hinted at a possible explanation to the "all things" teaser
that everyone has been talking about in the season finale "Requiem".  So, we might get our answers to what actually happened
that night...maybe all these arguments can stop now.

Week ending on April 15th: Well, the good news is that it's looking more and more like there will be an 8th season these
days since both David Duchovny & Gillian Anderson have expressed, at least, some interests in continuing with the show now.
Also, there's a rumor going around that Chris Carter, after consulting with the cast & crew, has decided to let Mulder & Scully
be together in the last episode.  So who knows...maybe we'll finally get some resolved sexual tension in the season or series
finale!  It's about time.;-)

Week ending on April 8th:  Still going out of our minds waiting on news on the next season question.  In the meantime,
David Duchovy's new movie, Return To Me, is doing well at the box office.  And everyone is all excited about Gillian
Anderson's episode "all things" which will be airing on Sunday!

Week ending on April 1st: Another slow week.  There's still no official news on whether there will be another season...
and this came from the crew during a shoot on Friday, so we just have to continue to be tortured.  But were not alone...the
poor crew has to work not knowing whether or not they'll be back.  That has to suck even more when your job is on the line.

Week ending on March 25th: All the talk this week was been about interviews with our favorite stars... Just to mention
a couple...Gillian Anderson interviewed David Duchovny for USA Weekend, and let's not forget David Duchovny's appearance
on The Tonight Show...it seems David had a ball with Leno talking about his penis.  Still no news on an 8th season, but if you
want to catch the next round of interviews...David will be on Letterman again on April 4th.  And Gillian's scheduled to have an
online chat with TV guide on April 7th, 5:00pm our time. Don't miss it!

Week ending on March 18th:  There's a rumor going around that David Duchovny has been offered $1million dollars an
episode to do another season on The X-Files.  So now everyone who believe's it is waiting around to see if he'll take it.  Of
course, Gillian Anderson is already under contract for 8 seasons.  This is getting to be ridiculous!  Everyone knows that neither
one of them really want to do another season.  Let's just hope that Fox doesn't ruin any of our hopes for a possible movie
sequel.  That would really suck.

Week ending on March 11th:  It looks like it's over folks...David Duchovy's Movieline interview pretty much confirms
that this is the last season, but once again, there has still been no official word from Fox.  Is anyone else as sad as I am?  Sorry,
that about does it for this week.

Week ending on March 4th:  Well, it seems what everyone is talking about this week is Gillian Anderson's interviews
with the Vancouver Sun and apparently even both a UK and Australian magazine about the end of the X-Files.  According to
her, this is definitely the last Season for our beloved show.  There still has been no official word from Fox yet, so let's not panic
yet.  But let's be prepared, because chances are, if Gillian says so, it is true. :-(  On a good note, at last!! There have been some
new spoilers for Gillian Anderson's episode mentioning Scully's past romantic involvement with a professor and having to
explain this past relationship to his daughter. More to come... I can't wait to see this one!

Week ending on February 26th:  We learned some more stuff about the David Duchovny's "Hollywood A.D."
episode:  It looks like Hollywood wants to make a movie about M&S, and in the film, they will be played by Tea Leoni &
Garry Shandling, oh brother!  I guess that rumor about Tea Leoni guest starring was true after all.:)  Gillian Anderson began
directing her episode "all things" last week, but the info about it is still being kept quiet for now.

Week ending on February 19th:  Once again, nothing this week.  Looking forward to X-Cops tonight!

Week ending on February 12th:  Not much this week, just some more stuff on these highly anticipated episodes... For
Gillian Anderson's (7X17) is titled "all things" not "All Things", and word is that there will be introspection about the character,
her choices, and a look at a relationship from her past. We may find out why Scully decided to work for the FBI. Expect it to
be a Mulder light episode too.  David Duchovny's episode (7X18) is titled "Hollywood AD".  Check back for more later.  The
new X-Files Magazine is on the stands now, don't forget to go get it!!!

Week ending on February 5th:
Still no word on an 8th Season yet.  But there's been talk about an X-Files spin-off featuring the Lone Gunmen.   And congrats
to David Duchovy and Gillian Anderson.  They have both been nominated for SAG awards! :-)  Let's hope that their peers
decide to vote for them this time around.  The SAG Awards will air live, Sunday, March 12th on TNT.  This is not really a
spoiler, but we know a "little" something more about the episode Gillian Anderson will be writing/directing.  In her own words,
she told TV Guide, "It delves into Scully's struggles between her place in life as an FBI agent and as a medical doctor," Ohh, so
tell us what else is new.:)  Filming for this episode will begin on February 23rd.  What a significant day!

Week ending on January 29th:
Not much to report this week.  Still  no developments on an eight season yet.:(  It looks like Tea Leoni guest starring on David
Duchovny's 2nd try at directing is just a rumor though.

Week ending on January 22nd:
Well, the eight season is still undecided.  But it's official, Gillian Anderson will be co-writing and directing her first episode,
7x17! And TVGuide will be running a story on it in the second week of February.  Also David is writing and directing another
episode too, 7x18, and supposedly his wife Tea Leoni will be guest starring.  Rob Bowman will return to direct episode 7x15.
And David will be on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on January 31.

Week ending on January 15th:
Word has it that 20th Century Fox is desperately trying to get David Duchovny, who doesn't want to come back, to sign for an
eight season of The X-Files.  Apparently they intend to bring The X-Files back with or without Duchovny.  Gillian Anderson,
who's also ready to move on, is contracted for an eight season, but that doesn't mean that she will be back.  Keep in mind that
Chris Carter's contract is also up, so basically, nothing has been decided as of yet.

Week ending on January 8th:
Apparently Gillian Anderson will be contributing to writing and possibly directing an X-Files episode this season.  That's about
all we know right now.
Gillian Anderson to play Clarice Starling in Silence of The Lambs sequel?  Well, we finally got to the bottom of this one.
Shewas only being considered, and never offer the part.  Anyway, apparently a clause in her Files contracts stipulates that she
cannot accept another role as an FBI agent and at the same time portray Agent Dana Scully on The X-Files anyway.  So much
for that one.  So now we're hearing that their offering the role to Kate Blanchett, that is, if it doesn't get scrapped altogether.

Remember...  The Truth Is Out There
