Below is an example of a release of TWO (2) Titles in the same book.  Such dual publications were quite common back in the 50's and 60's and are still in use by some publishers today. The fact that this happens to be a popular fiction is irrelevant.  It is only the illustration of the principle's existence (of dual titles) at that time that is important here, not the subject matter or content of the work itself.

The above depicts Two (2) Titles on a book.  Two titles should reflect on the inside of a book two distinctly different sets of material, each directly reflecting the title on the outside of the book.

Below you will see that this particular two titled book was copyrighted in 1959, proving that they knew of such things back in them olden days.  Yes, the IRS federal agency knew that it was propagating a lie, a deception, a cover up of fraud, and a fraud in the act of covering up the fraud.  After the copyright date exhibit page below, you will see the reflection of the two titles inside the book shown above.  Two different and distinct works of writings and publishing to be read and studied to the readers need and content.   This is what you do NOT see in any of the "54" publications which proclaim that "both" titles were issued.  Both = Two.  Yet only one title exists on each of the books, as you can now see by way of example from these illustrations.

The first TITLE inside the book reflects the applicable title with the same name outside the book.  Also contained with this inside title is a separate table of contents (not shown here), which illustrates that with each such title comes a separate and expectable written work that pertains specifically to that title on the outside cover of the book.

The second TITLE inside the book, just as with the first above, reflects the applicable title with the same name outside the book.  Also contained with this inside second title (making an actual two titles) is a separate table of contents (not shown here) unique to that second title on the cover of the book, which again illustrates that with each such title comes a separate and expectable written work that pertains specifically to that title on the outside cover of the book
