I run a small rabbitry of 27 holes total, 19 (24x24), 6 (24x18) and 2 (18x22) for over flow. With this limited number of cages, I'm very picky when it comes to which rabbits stay and which don't. It has forced me to keep only the best and breed only the best.

It all started when I was 4 years old and I begged for a pet bunny. My parents bought me a little Nertherland Dwarf, I of course named it, Thumper. What else was a 4 year old supposed to name a gray bunny? Well the combination of a 4 year old, a small town house and a high strung bunny wasn't pretty. That rabbit turned into a devil bunny. Parents, please don't buy a bunny for a child and unless they're old enough to properly handle and care for them. Thumper went to live on a friend's farm and promptly ran away. We moved to Northern Virginia when I was 9 and I've lived here ever since. When I was 10 or so I saw a "Rabbits For Sale" sign and ask for a pet bunny. I bought a $5 mixed doe and had her for about 2 years. I discovered Hollands at age 11 when there was a sign in my neighborhood; I talked to the owner of Adnaree's Rabbitry, Maureen Martin. She was an open breeder who introduced me to rabbit shows. When my parents were unable to take me to a show she was more than willing. I bought my first Holland from her and she introduced me to other breeders. I started out just for 4H but as my mom says "it got out of control". I now show in only ARBA sanctioned shows and I'm very competitive :) Hollands have taught me so much about buisness, ethics, genetics and life.

In my herd I'm focused on producing a Holland to ARBA standard. I like to see mass in my Hollands. Right now I'm breeding for a well balanced rabbit with bone, crown and smooth hindquaters. Another thing that it important to me is topline. I want short, well filled shoulders giving me a smooth topline right to the table.
Hi, welcome to my rabbitry's website, let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Abby Cleveland. I'm a 18 year old youth breeder. I live in Northern Virginia.
I raise Holland Lops exclusively, although I really like Netherland Dwarfs, Polish and Satins but Hollands take all my time. The colors I raise are tort & black both solid and broken varieties, I wish I could do colors but cage space is tight so I'm forced to limited my number of Hollands and colors can take up alot of space. The colors I do like are smoke pearls, Siamese sable point, sable point, opal and chinchilla and of course the everyday tort and black. If I ever get back in Hollands after college I'm definitely doing Otters, I simply love that color.

One of my favorite bucks
In all my years raising this wonderfull breed I have met so many nice people, who have encouraged me and helped me along the way. But without my parents I would not be where I am today. They took me to shows and were always there for me. My parents do not know anything about rabbits but they were always interested when I showed them that special jr or the newest litter :)
My mom was always there to offer a shoulder to cry on time after time when things just didn't go right.
I own them so much.
Thank You, I love you guys!

Abby
