Laville Results
9/18/01
East United started the year with a dominating 10-0 mercy rule victory
over Roustabouts. Laville easily could have won 20-0 if the referee
did not call it. Laville scored early with Mike Sanders' shot.
Mike had a hat trick in the first four minutes of the game. Substitutions
and unselfish ball movement lasted most of the rest of the half, as Laville
went into the locker room with a 6-0 lead. Sensing the nature of
the uneven game, Tim called on all players to just hold on to the ball
in the second half. Despite several minutes of control ball, Laville
eventually scored four more quick goals and the game was called.
The Roustabouts played hard, but when you play the Laville squad, you have
to play more than just hard to win. Laville did not allow any legitimate
goal opportunities. The one Roustabout chance at a goal was snuffed
out by a leaping Tim who then dribbled up and passed off to another player
for an easy goal. Several players - Andrew, Mickey, and Sarah - made
their debut with the Laville team. East United faces Wasabi next
Tuesday night at 8.
This is what we look like when we play soccer. GOOOOOAAAL Laville!!!
