THE REAL MELCHIZEDEK, PART SEVEN

The Michael-Zadok who lived two generations before Jesus was Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist. As a member of the high order of priests, Zacharias had very strict rules to obey with respect to procreation, which the Davidic kingly line did as well. The heads of both the kingly and the priestly lines were required by Essene law to marry and have children, so that their descendants would carry on their successions. When it was the designated times to procreate, someone such as the Zadok had to temporarily remove himself from his priestly duties, and to get someone to fill in for him, as one could not retain intimate physical contact with his wife and still maintain the requisite purity as detailed even in the Book of Leviticus.

In Luke 1:15-23, there is mention made of Zacharias leaving the Temple in order to have relations with his wife Elizabeth, Mary's cousin. Zacharias was rendered "speechless in the Temple," but this did not mean that he became physically mute because of faithlessness, as is recorded in the New Testament. It meant that he was forbidden to speak in his usual ordained role while he and his wife were trying to conceive. Zacharias eventually passed on his priestly responsibilities to Simeon the Abiathar, the next one down in authority. It was more than likely that this Simeon was the Gabriel who appeared to Mary and Joseph. At any rate, Zacharias was getting old, and it was becoming imperative that Elizabeth conceived before it was too late. This was a wise decision, one that literally bore fruit, because their son was John the Baptist, who eventually succeeded his father as head of the Zadokite dynasty.

Now it becomes clear that it would have been impossible for John the Baptist to have been the Messiah, as this title was given only to the first sons of every Davidic generation, which Jesus was. I have never heard of a Melchizedek becoming a David, but it has happened the other way. However, it also explains a lot about John's activities as documented in the New Testament. Only the Melchizedek had the knowledge and authority to accomplish what he did. John was beheaded early in Jesus' career, and had no children, which was against the rules. Jesus was John's closest living relative, so after allowing himself to be crucified (but not killed), Jesus was given the additional role of the Melchizedek. He then became a Priest-King like the one mentioned in Genesis, who was also known as the King of Salem and the King of Peace, which is what Salem, or "Shalom" in Hebrew, means. Therefore, I ask you, my readers, to consider the possibility that at the time of Melchizedek and Abram, Salem may not yet have been a place, but a concept or title of honor. I will explain this theory later on in this book, when I relate what I believe the original Levitical cities to have been.

Getting back to John the Baptist, he was no "Henny Penny" running around screaming that the sky was falling. He was in fact the last Melchizedek before Jesus. In Chapter 3 of the Book of Matthew, John is quoted to have said, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." (Matt. 3:2). In Matthew 3:7-??, it is written:

"But when he (John) saw the Pharisees and Sadduccees coming to his baptism, he said to them, 'Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee the wrath to come? Therefore, bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not think to say to yourselves, "We have Abraham as our father." For I say to you that God is able to raise up children from these stones. And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.'"

Among the eleven known Dead Sea Scrolls (and we are still waiting to hear what was found at the latest archealogical expedition at En Gedi which should have uncovered a twelfth scroll), there is a short document entitled, "The Heavenly Prince Melchizedek." In Geza Vermes' translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls, he introduces this section as follows:

"A striking first century BCE document, composed of 13 fragments from Cave 11 and centered on the mysterious figure of Melchizedek, was first published by A. S. van der Woude in 1965. It takes the form on an eschatological midrash in which the proclamation of liberty to the captives at the end of days (Isaiah lxi,I) is understood as being part of the general restoration of property during the year of Jubilee (Lev. 25:13), as seen in the Bible (Deut. 15:2), as a remission of debts.

"The heavenly deliverer is the Melchizedek. Identical with the Archangel Michael, he is the head of the "Sons of Heaven" or "Gods of Justice" and is referred to as "elohim" or "el." The same terminology occurs in the Songs for the Holocaust of the Sabbath. These Hebrew words normally mean "God", but in certain specific contexts, Jewish tradition also explains "elohim" as primarily designating a judge. Here Melchizedek is portrayed as presiding over the final Judgment and condemnation of his demonic counterpart, Belial/Satan, the Prince of Darkness, elsewhere called the Melkiresha. The great act of deliverance is expected to occur on the Day of Atonement at the end of the tenth Jubilee cycle.

"This manuscript sheds valuable light not only on the Melchizedek figure of the Epistle to the Hebrews, but also on the development of the messianic concept in the New Testament and early Christianity."

(Author's note: This certainly sheds a different light on who has the ultimate say on who will inherit the Kingdom of God and who will not. It would appear that a human being, a high priest, will have the final judgment call, not the supernational God as most people believe. Not only that, but in 1998, Israel celebrated its Jubilee year. I would also like to mention at this time that within the last couple of years, the Israelis took it upon themselves to decree that all Jews in the Diaspora (the Exile) who believe in Jesus as the Messiah will not be allowed into the Holy Land, thus violating the commandments concerning the year of Jubilee as quoted below. But more than that, by issuing this edict, the rabbinical Jews (descendants of the Pharisees) are once again denying the right of the Messianic/Davidic bloodline to their rightful kingdom, and the priestly line that continues to serve them in places like Scotland and France to this day. If Jesus did become a Melchizedek after his crucifixion, then another name for him would have been Elohim, or God, as well, which explains a lot about the trinity. Jesus and God were interchangeable, just not the way the Church would have us believe.)
