THE REAL MELCHIZEDEK, PART EIGHT

From the Dead Sea Scroll entitled "The Heavenly Prince Melchizedek":

"...And concerning that which He said, In this year of Jubilee, each of you shall return to his property (Lev. xxx, 13); and likewise, And this is the manner of release: every creditor shall release that which he lent to his neighbor. He shall not exact it of his neighbour and his brother, for God's release has been proclaimed (Deut. xv, 2). And it will be proclaimed at the end of days concerning the captives as He said, "To proclaim liberty to the captives" (Isaiah lxi, i). Its interpretation is that He will assign them to the Sons of Heaven and to the inheritance of Melchizedek; for He will cast their lot amid the portions of Melchizedek, who will return them there and will proclaim them liberty, forgiving them the wrongdoings of all their iniquities.

"And this thing will occur in the first week of the Jubilee that follows the nine Jubilees. And the Day of Atonement is the end of the tenth Jubilee, when all the Sons of Light and the men of the lot of Melchizedek will be atoned for. And a statute concerns them to provide them their rewards. For this is the moment of the Year of Grace for Melchizedek. And he will, by his strength, judge the holy ones of God, executing judgment as it is written concerning him in the Songs of David, who said, "Elohim has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment" (Psalms lxxxii, I)*. And it was concerning him that he said, "Let the assembly of the peoples return to the heights above them; El (god) will judge the peoples" (Psalms vii, 7-8). As for that which he said, "How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked?" (Psalms lxxxii, 2), its interpretation concerns Satan and the spirits of his lot who rebelled by turning away from the precepts of God to...And Melchizedek will avenge the vengeance of the judgments of God...and he will drag them from the hand of Satan and from the hand of all the spirits of his lot. And all the gods of Justice will come to his aid to attend to the destruction of Satan. And the height is...all the sons of God...this...This is the day of Peace/Salvation concerning which God spoke through Isaiah the prophet, who said, How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger who proclaims peace, who brings good news, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, 'Your Elohim reigns' (Isa. liii, 7). Its interpretation, the mountains are the prophets...and the messenger is the Anointed one of the spirit, concerning whom Daniel said, Until an anointed one, a prince...And he who brings good news, who proclaims salvation: it is concerning him that it is written...To comfort all who mourn, to grant to those who mourn in Zion."

The Light that is so important in the Dead Sea Scrolls and elsewhere was structured by a high ranking "triarchy," or trinity, which corresponded to Priest, King, and Prophet. These men held the additional titles of Power, Kingdom, and Glory. In this hierarchy, the Father was in charge and his two immediate assistants were designated his Son and his Spirit (as a reminder, this is why Jesus was elevated to sit at the Father's right hand in the Kingdom of Heaven, which we now know was the Qumran Community of the Essenes, he was called the Son of God, and that everyone would have to go through him in order to get to the Father. It was his spiritual and religious duty to screen all people who wanted to have an audience with the head of the spiritual aspect of the Qumran Community. In his capacity as the Son, Jesus reported to the Father even though he was the Davidic king.)

Before Jesus was officially anointed as the Davidic king, he was the physical Son of Man and later, the spiritual Son of God, who was in charge of the Qumran priesthood in the flesh. As I mentioned earlier, the Melchizedek immediately before Jesus was his cousin, John the Baptist, who had inherited the position from his father, Zacharias. The position of the Father went back and forth for a while because of political reasons, but at the time of Jesus' crucifixion, the Father, or the Abraham, was Simon, the same Lazarus that Jesus raised from a spiritual death, not an actual one. After Jesus' crucifixion, Simon did Jesus a return favor and put him into a coma so that the Davidic king would not be lost, and rewarded him with the position of the Melchizedek, as John the Baptist's closest living male relative, and to reward his for his sacrifice.

Why did Jesus become the Melchizedek only after being perfected, and what actually caused Jesus to become perfected in the flesh according to the Essene way, so that he could ascend to Heaven and the Melchizedek priesthood? These are questions we may never have complete answers to, but we do know one thing positively: Jesus didn't die in the flesh on the cross...he died unto himself. The way that the Church teaches perfection, in order to keep the sheep in line, is to tell the flock that perfection cannot be achieved in this life, but only after you die, so you'd better be good if you don't want to wind up in hell for all eternity. Please see my section on perfection to find out how the Essenes defined their salvation, and you will understand that Jesus' becoming a Melchizedek after he allowed himself to be crucified was a reward for his suffering while he was still alive. Suicide is sin, is it not?

At the time of Jesus' ministry, the head of the Levi priests was Jonathan Annas. As chief of the Levite dynasty, he held the third angelic rank of Sariel (which proves that the Melchizedek priesthood ranks higher than the Levitical priesthood of the Old Testament Book of Leviticus), and as such was the nominal King's Priest. Along with these three supreme archangels (chief ambassadors), Michael (the Zadok), Gabriel (the Abiathar), and Sariel (the Levi), there were also others with pre-eminent titles. These positions, however, were not dynastic, and were denoted by the representative styles, Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. The Father was the equivalent of the Roman Pope of later times (Pope= Papa=Father), the Roman style having been purloined directly from the original Jewish source. In essence, The Father's Son and Spirit were his physical and spiritual deputies. The position of Father was elective, and precluded its holder from certain other duties. For example, when Jonathan Annas became the Father, his brother Matthew (the Apostle) became his successor as the head of the Levi priests of the Succession. Hence, Matthew became the Levi of Alphaeus.

The Levi (Levites) priests operated as subordinates of the archangels. At their head, but junior to the Levi dynasty, was a Chief Priest (as distinct from a High Priest). He was angelically designated Raphael. His senior priests were styled in accordance with the original sons of Levi (as given in Genesis 29:34), and they were called Kohath, Gershon, and Merari. The next priest in seniority was Amram (The old Testament son of Kohath), followed by Aaron, Moses, and the priestess Miriam. They, in turn, were senior to Nabad, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithmar -- the representative sons of Aaron.

It is at this stage that the primary aspect of the Grail Code begins to emerge, for the heir to the Davidic kingly succession held no angelic title and was not in priestly service. The King was obliged to serve the people, and it was his express duty to champion them against establishment injustice. The very name David means "beloved", and as a beloved servitor and champion of his people, Jesus would have made a very fine king. It was this royal concept of humble service that the lay disciples found so hard to comprehend in their Messianic leader. This is well demonstrated in John 13:4-11, when Jesus washed the Apostles' feet. Peter queried the action, saying, "Thou shalt never wash my feet," but Jesus was insistent, replying with finality, "I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you."

Such a charitable action is not the mark of a power-seeking dynast, but is emblematic of "common fatherhood" in the nature of true Grail kingship.
