I live in a large bungalow with a walk-out basement. The main floor is composed of my bedroom, kitchen, living room and dining room. The "basement" has my children's bedrooms and the family room. The infant toys are kept on the main floor and the older children's toys are in the family room. The babies are not allowed downstairs without my direct supervision, because of the danger of choking on some pieces of the bigger children's toys.
The older children may go anywhere they want in the house, except for my children's bedrooms, but for safety reasons, the infant toys stay upstairs and the bigger children toys must stay downstairs.
The infants/toddlers sleep in playpens in my bedroom. The older children nap on mats on the living room floor, where I can keep an eye on everyone. |
