Are you or your child interested in learning to play drum set? Or perhaps it's time to refine your skills and learn some new tricks?
Drum lessons with Laurel Grinnell
For the Music:
Playing music is a gift.  Everyone has the capacity to receive this gift, but music requires discipline and practice to reap the benifits of its joy.  I will help you find a way to make practice fun for you so that every musical experience is enjoyable and makes you feel good about learning!  Playing music is about exploring what is already inside of you.  Learning proper technique, notation, and rudiments will help you express this inner music!
Method of Study:
Laurel currently teaches at her home studio in the San Diego State University area.  House calls are negotiable.  Please inquire.

Rudiments

Learning the basic drum rudiments is important for stick control and hand/eye coordination.

Notation

Drum notation is very specific and is different than normal musical notation.  Learning how to notate rhythms will help you document your own creativity as well as give you a musical advantage over other drummers who can't read.!

Beats

Its always fun to learn more beats.  Learn from any style; rock, funk, country, Latin, jazz, or many others!
Policy:
Payment

I charge $25.00 per half hour lesson or $40.00 for a full hour lesson.  Payment is due at the first lesson of the month which includes payments for the entire month.

Cancellations

I require students to notify me of a cancellation no less than 24 hours before the lesson time.  Less than 24 hour notification may result in the loss of the lesson with normal charge.  Of course, I will try my best to arrange a make-up lesson when cancellations occur.
