The Rebel Flag has been surrendered to Old Glory
But the South continues to let their colors flow
The Stars and Bars are flying high through every southern city sky
To honor those who gave their lives so long ago
The Southern Banner was a battle cry for freedom
Those who bore the colors always held them tall
They waved through every victory sought in every battle that was fought
They were held high till the last man there would fall
This great Civil War had drained the soul of Dixie
All her fighting sons have ended earthly cares
We say to all those Southern Sons who fought for their flag and raised their guns
You will never be forgotten in our prayers
There will be some today who will try to down the banner
To them the reasons while it flies is still unknown
For every drop of blood that spilled and southern soldier that was killed
The Stars and Bars of Dixie will be flown forever!
