reported, I was in New Hampshire for the last five weeks
getting treeatment for my cancer, but they let me come home
for the holidays, which made me very, very happy. It allowed
me to be in my own house, which is very nice, and even nicer
because I get to be at home for both Christmas and Hannukah
(I celebrate both) -- and New Years too. I have to be
back in New Hampshire on January 3, likely for another few
weeks. But I'm very happy to have some time in front of my
computer, resting on my own couch and sleeping in my own
bed...it's been wonderful.
*thank you SO much*. I can't thank you enough. I can't
possibly keep up with all the mail I've been getting, and
there's no way I can respond to all of you personally, but
please know how touched I have been by the outpouring of love
and kindness. Your support makes this just a little easier,
and I need all the support, good wishes, and prayers I can
get because of how sick I am, and because I still don't know
what the outcome will be.
new (well, new to the site) interview -- you can find it on
the Interview/Articles page about midway down. I also have
some pictures to upload but I can't sit at the computer for
long periods of time -- they found out last week that the cancer
is also in my bones, particularly my spine, and it's painful for
me to sit up for long periods of time. So the pics (they are
mostly screen caps from season 6) will be uploaded later
this week.
that's only because I haven't seen the episodes yet. Someone
(thank you, Susan!!) was kind enough to tape them for me and
they are on their way to my house as I type this, so as soon
as I have watched the tapes, I will write some reviews and
upload those here as well.

This site will be on hiatus for an undetermined period of
time. I'm a friend of Leyla's (the webmistress) and I'm
doing this update for her. At the moment, she is getting
treatment at a cancer center in New Hampshire. As she mentioned
on this page a few weeks ago, her cancer has come back
to her lungs and her stomach. Since she arrived at the cancer
center, they've done a lot of tests and it's been shown that
the cancer is much more widespread than she feared. The cancer
has spread to her lungs, stomach, liver, kidney, spleen, and
most upsettingly, to her brain. She is starting radiation
treatment immediately on Monday morning for the brain cancer
and after that is trying to figure out plans for chemotherapy
to deal with the rest of the cancer. However, the outlook
is not very good -- her doctor has told her that she may only
have a life expectancy of 6 months to a year.

access at the moment and she is too ill. She will possibly
have some email access this coming week (the week of December

address first). Leyla wanted me to tell everyone how much she
has appreciated your good thoughts and prayers, and to keep
them coming as she really needs them.

Magazine to the Photo Gallery. I have to warn everyone:
these are large files. I've shrunk them down as much as
possible, but you still want to see them, so I had to keep
them a little on the larger side. I've also added to the
Photo Gallery the NBC promo photo of Laura for the year 2000;
please trust me when I tell you these are hard to come by
and I had a heck of time getting my hands on one (obviously
, since the year 2000 is drawing to a close). Anyhow, enjoy
all the pictures!

I went out today and finally got a copy of the Out Magazine
interview with Laura. And I finally got to see the three
fantastic pictures of her. Can I just say WOW? I am working
this evening on scanning the photos -- I want to do them
justice -- and hopefully later this evening they will be here
on the site. I'll leave a note here when they are up!

6th season finale May Day to Screen Capture Gallery #1A.
Also, some very good news to report: this site was listed
today in two major search engines, Yahoo and Google -- go
check it out! Type in Laura Innes and you should get a listing
for this site on the first page of results (with Google,
this site is the first result!). This is fantastic news
and makes me really proud. Thanks for the support of all who
have visited this site; you've given me a reason to keep the
site looking good!

have it confirmed by Laura herself! There are pictures from
the article; they will be added to this site soon.

webmistress (me) got some bad news this week. My cancer
has returned and spread to both my stomach and my lungs. I'm
a fighter, so you can count on me doing everything I can to
beat this. But I will be doing some traveling to get medical
treatment, so please bear this in mind when you are waiting on
site updates. I made a committment when I created this site
to have it be a regularly updated and current source of info
about Laura Innes, and I will continue to do that to the best
of my ability.

first time, someone from ER confirms the Kerry Weaver
lesbian plotline -- and it's Laura Innes herself. This
was found at zap2it.com, but it's from Out Magazine
(I'm currently checking to see if there was more of an
article than this):

employee later this season is just another storyline. But
her husband was a little more concerned, Innes told Out
magazine. She reports that he worried, "It's really strange
because I feel a bit threatened. What if you like her
better than me?" Innes plays Dr. Kerry Weaver, the often-
stressed administrator whose personal life could benefit
from some open-heart attention. If the romance blossoms,
she'll join TV's scant but growing list of bi/lesbian
characters, including "Buffy's" Willow, "Popular's" Robin
John, "Dark Angel's" Original Cindy and "Nash Bridges"
sister Stacy.

Laura was actually on for the 2nd half of the show and not
just the final few minutes (thank God!). A review for this

spoilers I'm hearing, Laura will appear in tonight's ER
(called Flight of Fancy), although likely only at the very
end of the episode (this due to her schedule; as mentioned
below, she was directing The West Wing likely around the
same time this episode was filming).

Dr. Kerry Weaver this season -- and The Enquirer knows who
her lesbian lover will be. A sexy psychiatrist, played by
Elizabeth Mitchell, will start a stormy affair with actress
Laura Innes' cane-wielding character during the all-important
February ratings sweeps. It will be a familiar role for
sizzling Elizabeth -- who played Angelina Jolie's girlfriend
in "Gia," the HBO flick about the bisexual supermodel who
died of AIDS, broke and alone. ER producers cast Elizabeth
to play a psychiatrist "who's both sexy and self-assured,"
said a show insider, who divulged the affair will unfold
over four episodes.

been postponed due to problems with Geocities. They are
having a server problem which is preventing any file uploads
at the moment. I'm working on finding out why, and as soon
as the problem is resolved, the caps will be uploaded.

being reported that Laura is directing another episode of
The West Wing. Or rather, she's likely already finished,
seeing as how episodes for primetime TV are usually filmed
anywhere from 6-8 weeks in advance of airing. The episode
is the Thanksgiving episode (yes, Laura is directing
another episode during sweeps month!), and is the eighth
episode of the 2nd season for The West Wing. The title
of the episode is Shibboleth, and will air on NBC on
November 22.

Jason Alexander (who has been PI in the past with Laura),
