Changes, additions and new site features
September 2000

This is where you'll find the daily updates and news from the month of September.

September 30, 2000

Added 2 new photos to the main photo Gallery.

September 29, 2000

Ooh la la! You are going to love this...the Photo Gallery
was taking too long to load with all the new pics being
added, so it was split into two pages (see yesterday's news,
below). The same was happening with the Screen Caps page.
(The goal: for the pages with images to be loaded within
a reasonable time for those of you with slower internet
connections.) So I created a new page for the newly acquired
Kerry Weaver screen caps -- you can access the new page
from the main page and also from the regular screen caps
page. Thirty-six (36!!) caps are in the new gallery. Enjoy!

September 29, 2000

Found this little tidbit in the October 9 issue of US Magazine
(regarding what's new on the best returning shows):
"ER -- premiere: Thursday October 12, 10pm, NBC. Dr. John
Carter (Noah Wyle) faces rehab; resident Abby Lockhart
(Maura Tierney) faces her mother (guest star Sally Field)
and Dr. Kerry Weaver (Laura Innes) faces questions about
saving super-preemies. 'We haven't run out of medical stories
to tell,' says co-executive producer Neal Baer."

Not sure if this is referring to the season premiere, or the
early part of the season, but it sure is nice to finally see
some concrete news about what's going to be happening for
Kerry Weaver this season.

September 28, 2000

Added a new link to the ER Links page.

September 28, 2000

Added two promo photos to the main Photo Gallery.

September 28, 2000

The Photo Gallery was getting too big, so I've broken it
up into two separate pages (both of which can be accessed
from the main index page). The new photo page has all the
award show photos, and the main photo gallery page has
everything else. Two new photos have been added to
the Awards Photo Gallery.

September 27, 2000

Added a new article to the Interviews/Articles page.

September 26, 2000

Added four new photos (from various award shows) to the Gallery.

September 26, 2000

Added three new screen caps to the Screen Capture Page.

September 26, 2000

Added the previously and mysteriously missing last paragraph
of a New York Daily News interview (see "Snippets" on the
Interviews/Articles page).

September 25, 2000

Added a whole new page (accessible from the main page) which
has two lovely banners and a button that you can place on
your webpage as a link back to this site.

September 25, 2000

Added a 1998 interview to the Interviews/Articles page in
which Laura gives a little insight into the character of
Kerry Weaver.

September 24, 2000

Added a new article to the Interviews/Articles page -- a
commentary as to what was so good about Laura's work during
the sixth season and why she should have been nominated for
an Emmy Award.

September 24, 2000

Check out the "Laura on the web" page -- I've added a new link!

September 23, 2000

Some days are like yesterday -- busy. Other days, like today,
are quiet. Nothing new added to the site, but two pics and four
interviews have just been put in the mail to the webmistress,
and will be up on the site as soon as they arrive. Included are
some interesting bits about Laura's directing last season's episode
Be Still My Heart.

In other news, since the Entertainment Weekly and US Magazine
articles appeared (see 9/20 and 9/21 news, below), things have quieted
down on various message boards in regards to the lesbian affair Kerry
Weaver will supposedly have this upcoming season. Maybe it means
that people are starting to accept it and move on...

And, today this site was registered as a featured site in the
Celebrity Link Directory.

September 22, 2000

What a busy day! Added two more photos to the Gallery,
and added two new articles to the Interviews/Articles page.

September 22, 2000

Added an NBC promo shot of Laura to the Photo Gallery.

September 22, 2000

Transcribed all three off-site links on the Interviews/Articles page
so that all articles and interviews are housed on-site instead (you
never know when those links will just end up as dead ends!).
Also added a new pic to the Photo Gallery.

September 21, 2000

Added a new link to the ER Links page.

September 21, 2000

Added one off-site article to the Interviews page (in regards to the the
"rumor" below. Looks like it might be true!).

September 20, 2000

Check out this tidbit in this week's US Magazine in
the "Hot Stuff" section:

"If the walls could talk on the set of ER, they'd probably be yapping
about an upcoming story line involving the redheaded firebrand Dr. Kerry
Weaver, played by Laura Innes. Hot Stuff has learned that ER producers
are secretly developing a lesbian plot for Kerry, Until now, the
doctor - who joined the hospital staff in 1995 - has dated only men.
A rep for the show declined to comment."

Note from the webmistress: Maybe this is what Laura was referring
to at the Emmy preshow when she said there was some "juicy stuff"
coming up for Kerry this season. There's been an onslaught of varying
opnions about this rumor on the internet in various discussion forums
since the news was posted. As long as it means that Laura gets a good
amount of screen time, the webmistress will be happy to see whatever does happen!

September 20, 2000

Added a section for those seeking to know more about the webmistress.
The link is on the main page.

September 19, 2000

Added 8 new pictures of Laura to the Photo Gallery and added a little
more info on David Brisbin's filmography to the Biography section.

September 18, 2000

Added some very cool information about Laura's husband. David Brisbin,
to the Biography page -- a list of which ER episodes he has appeared in.

September 17, 2000

Finally got around to expanding the screen caps so that site visitors can
actually see them on the Screen Capture page. They used to be so small
that they were hardly recognizable; now they are of a size where they can
be seen and enjoyed clearly.

September 16, 2000

Added two pics of Laura at the 2000 Emmys to the Photo Gallery
page. Also, in the September 25, 2000 People Magazine, Laura was mentioned
in a section called "Behind the Seams":

"More dish from Emmys 2000: ER's Laura Innes (Dr. Kerry Weaver) was heading
out in her white-jersey Celine frock when she noticed that the hem was
unraveling. She made a quick recovery by mending it herself with needle
and thread in the limo en route to the shindig. 'I play a doctor on TV, so I
can stitch all kinds of things together,' she joshes..."

September 15, 2000

Added a counter and a guestbook to the main page.
Also added three new articles on the Interviews page.

September 14, 2000

Uploaded the Interviews page with four on-site and two off-site interviews.

September 14, 2000

Found a screen capture of Laura from the Emmy preshow and added it
to the Photos section.

At the Emmy awards preshow, Laura talked to Melissa Rivers and was
asked about the recent "softening" of Kerry Weaver; Laura said that
she was loving it, and that there are going to be a lot of
"juicy things" coming up for Kerry this season. The webmistress
has hopes for a Kerry/Carter relationship, but is assuming that TBTB
(The Powers That Be) at ER will likely rule that out.

In any event, Laura looked wonderful (her hair is much longer
than when we saw her last season!) and seemed very excited about
whatever the upcoming season will bring for Kerry Weaver. And let's hope for
an Emmy nomination next year seeing as how she was robbed this year...

Kudos who whoever makes these kinds of decisions: during the Emmy broadcast,
there was a section of the show with clips of "groundbreaking" television,
and Laura's scene with Alan Alda from "The Peace of Wild Things" was
included (the one where Kerry breaks down and cries). Hopefully from
wherever Laura was sitting, she knew that she had every reason to be
proud of the incredible job she did in that episode. God knows the
webmistress was sitting at home, thrilled to see it, but thinking,
"Yes, it was groundbreaking, and she should have gotten an Emmy for it!!"

September 13, 2000

Uploaded the whole site! All the pages are up and functional
with the exception of the interviews page, which should be up by the
weekend. Other features for the index page, such as guestbook and counter,
will be up by the weekend as well.
