MY UNIVERSITY

                      MY COLLEGE: ST. AGNES

I finished my schooling in Bangalore. I started my college at St. Agnes College in Mangalore. St. Agnes  was started way back in the year 1925 by a group of Christian missionaries, today also it is run by them.  My college Principal in my times was Sister Olivia a Doctorate in Mathematics. It is located on the slopes in a place called Bendoorwell  very close to the Mangalore city.We have a very big champus, it has Kinder garden to Degree classes. There were a few girls in my class who were coming to St.Agnes from the time they were 4 years old.  I completed my Bachelors Degree in Business Management in 1994. St. Agnes offers Bachelors Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce and Business Management. In languages we have a vast choice of English,Kannda,Hindi, Sanskrit and also French.

We have excellent  highly  qualified teaching staff. Equal importance was given to Academics, Sports and also Cultural activities. Every year there will be a minimum of 5-6 ran holders and University toppers. Our college is well know for GOOD QUALITY EDUCATION. Banging ranks every year has become a habit for my college.

Every morning before we started our daily routine we have to recite a 12 line long prayer, this has to be told for every class, that is, sing the prayer for 7 times in  Dayton addition to our regular classes we have Moral Science as well as Teachers Counselling. moral science class included any topics related to life, problems related to women, drugs, importance of education.........any thing in general. We would some times debate on topics about WOMEN AT WORK,MARRAIGE etc.  Teachers Counselling would be one is to one basis. students can get help, suggestions or guidance regarding Academics..........in choosing the right specialising subjects, right project etc., or family problems............any matter under the sun. Totally each day would be interesting interactive and a new learning experience.

Today St. Agnes maintains the same tradition  be it in Academics  or in  Extra-curricular activities it has been the best always. It has given great importance to women and the upliftment of their personality to blossom into a fine human being. My college has made me proud today and ever after and made me feel like a new generation women who can excel any heights in life. I AM PROUD TO BE A EX-AGNESIAN.
