NEWS/UPDATES
Hello and welcome to the latest new's coming straight from the Last Post mission control.
With the poster being handed out to as many people and organisations as we can, the newly opened  'Last Post ' bank account didn't have to wait long before seeing action, there has already been some very generous donations from our
sponsors  and who's logo's will appear on the mighty white beast .
There was a scare earlier when car insurance raised its ugly head with the need to renew the road tax and after quote's of 300/400 were handed out , the beer fund started to look threatened , only the brave and cool intervention of comrade gary saved the day by adding it to his car insurance for 90 !!!! many thank's Tesco's we can now sleep at night !!
The cheapest channel crossing seems to be
Speedferries who do the Dover - Boulogne route, it worked out half the price of P&O & they run on Boxing day .
The mighty white mazda was taken away to be checked by our mechanic Sean Hollobone & passed his expert examination, his donation of a full service is very much appreciated , lets hope he can get the air-con to work !!!!
Our 90 donation to the vehicle tax man was painful but we should be able to claim a few months back .
Saturday the 9th saw a drink/meeting with another team of group 2er's the Polstead Quatrelles, our nearest neighbours in the PDC & a fine time was had by all , we hope to meet up again before the 'off'.
The list of
sponsor's keeps growing & we may need to add a second page on the sponsorship section as space is running out , fantastic thanks to everyone & i'm sure there could be well be even more , we are watching the ever increasing cost of fuel as we know just how much our car just loves a good drink...
A visit to the vehicle graphics company can't be far off (yet another sponsor)can't wait to see it .
Gary's arm's seem to be recovering after his visit's to various shops saw him carrying out bags of donated goodies ,lets hope there's room in the car for everything !!
LATEST NEWS 23-11-04
The story continue's as the time for the off get's ever closer , the hoped for major sponsor seems to have had 2nd thoughts , hey but who care's !! their loss (maybe) so after waiting for word that never came, we've gone with what we've got & visited the vinyl signs guy who promised them as soon as .... Once done then its off to the local media (newspaper & radio) to drum up some coverage .
We also have the use of a notice board at work to further promote the Last Post Cause. After only a day a suggestion of a change of team name was written up but after a long meeting The T*****S was dropped as being a bit to near the truth for its own good !!!
The 'Last Post Grand Draw' went ahead with the help of not only the local companies who gave prizes but also our mates at work who helped sell the tickets on their shifts ,
the amount raised will help to offset some of the fuel costs .The spare wheel situation will hopefully be solved soon with a visit to a specialist breakers on the cards , then a service by Sean , leaving just enough time for a last minute shake-down before leaving not so bright & early on Boxing day.
Last but not least another meet up with the Polstead Quatrelles is planned for early December .
