Don't you just love it when a plan comes together ?? After a few weeks of not much happpening , Team 'Last Post' bursts into life.First off was a 300 mile road test for the mighty Mazda from sleepy Suffolk to Leicester and back, which it passed with no problems it even managed about 35 mpg which was better than we had hoped. Then a visit by a couple of mates to Heathrow Japanese Spares found us a pair of wheels complete with tyres (only slightly bald)for only 25 , the trouble we had getting any from breakers locally was a nightmare so many thanks Des & Kev !! Next off, the parcel containing our spare clutch arrives, brand new in the box for 20 inc p/p another ebay bargain !! (about 99% sure its the right one !)lets just hope we never need it .As if that wasn't enough a visit to the best sign makers in the world Signs Express   saw them wave their magic wand over the Mazda & turn it from a rather plain looking car to a fantastic looking rally special !! many many thanks to Matt Denton & all at the Ipswich branch . When your off trying to drum up a bit of sponsorship you quickly find out who the good guys are and its a massive thank you to all who appear on our Sponsors page .
So with just under 3 weeks to go (and counting) dare we say that most things seem to be done .Gary has managed to get some nice football kit from Ipswich Town Football Club many in childrens sizes so there's going to be some very happy Gambian school children running about !!! Also a box or two of out of date (but fine all the same) bandages etc has been promised , so its fingers crossed for that .
Lastly we are planning to meet up with the Polstead crew who in a desperate bid to confuse us have changed their name to 'Thunderbirds are go' . We may have the last laugh as a 3.8 ltr V6 is not know for its fuel ecomony !!! (jerry cans 20 each ho ho ho )......

Well what a week it's been and it just keeps getting better ! After hearing reports of the very poor fuel we shall encounter from the Western Sahara down, a quick check of products saw Lucas Oil (UK) Ltd become a very welcome and generous sponsor by not only donating  several bottles of Octane booster, but also providing us with bottles of their fuel treatment and fully synthetic oil . Some people can't be praised highly enough , so its a big thankyou to Les Downey for all his help, not only did he take an interest in our PDC venture but also sent the large box of products from Anglesey (Wales)to Suffolk in super quick time.
