| I must tell you all of a time long ago, When drama was brewing in windy Chicago. No one could have possibly foreseen, The havoc to be reeked by a viscous queen. I pray to the pioneers of rock and roll, To help me speak truthfully from within my soul. Ringo, George, Paul and John, Help me please to carry on, And tell this story as best as I can, For I am a huge Beatles fan. And I know that you will guide me, In the right path with light to see. So as I tell this amazing story, Of flashes of grace and shades of glory, Remind me to speak honestly, For I know the Fab Four are watching me. So now I start my vivid tale, And hopefully I will not fail, In recounting all the events that reeked, Havoc in the Chicago streets. It was the month of October, the season of fall, When the huge willow trees grew big and tall. The Smashing Pumpkins found themselves in a bind, For a new manager was someone they needed to find. They left Q-Prime, their former boss, But this change in management was no great loss, For the Pumpkins were quite unhappy you see, With the way Q-Prime handle their previous CD. They searched high and low, all over this land, To find a great person to manage their band, When out of the blue came a women you see. Who knew more about music than even me. Shed been around the business for a good long while, And everyone adored her crazy lifestyle, For she was married to the Iron Man, Who played for years with a great metal band. He Shot in the Dark, Barked at the Moon, Told his mama he was coming home soon. Loved to ride the rails of a Crazy Train, And sang Paranoid while going insane. On the Black Sabbath, Over the Mountain was born, The wonderful, unforgettable, Ozzy Osbourne. Sharon was his lovely spouse, Sharp as a knife, cute as a mouse. For years she had managed his solo career. In the right direction, his music she wanted to steer. And with the band Coal Chamber to add to her belt, She really believed and truly felt, That she could handle this Smashing band. It seemed like the perfect job to land. So Sharon signed on as the Pumpkins manager, But something did not sit well with her, For after only four months, Sharon resigned, And again the Pumpkins found themselves in a bind. Sharon claimed the reason for her sudden adieu, Rested on the shoulders of the Spaceboy in blue. What could cause such a talented girl, To stop working with one of the best bands in the world? The partnership had seemed so perfect to me, But there was a problem that no one could see. |
| I did this in my creative writing class my senior year of high school. It was supposed to follow the structure of the epic poem, BEOWOLF. I wrote about a fictional batttle between Sharon Osbourne (wife of Ozzy) and Billy Corgan (lead singer of The Smashing Pumpkins). Sharon Osbourne managed the Smashing Pumpkins for a short while, but quit after only three months because she and Billy could not get along. This is probably my best work in that creative writing class. I got an A! I hope you like it. |
