When the railing broke I just got up and walked to the side which led to backstage.  And I stayed there to watch the rest of Incubus and Deftones.  At the end of the show, I got some tones pics from one of the crew guys.  Deftones were awesome, but what happened to Jeremy had really shaken me up.  I was bumbed that I didnt get to talk to Chino at that show, although I did get to meet Chi and Steph so that was cool.  However, I still had two more chances:  November 28th and November 29th In Knoxville, TN and Fort Mill South Carolina.  What an amazing road trip that was for Melina and I.  I couldnt have dreamed up those two days any better.  You can read about the Knoxville show here and the Fort Mill show here.  Basically at the end of the Fort Mill show, Melina and I got to go backstage and hang with Deftones, Incubus and Taproot. Im sure I looked like crap from being up front for the whole show, but I didnt really care.  Also backstage were Jeremy and his friend Kendra.  Deftones had totally hooked him up cause they felt badly about what had happened to him at the Ballroom show.  That night I finally got to really meet Chino.  I was so nervous and actually dont even remember what I said. I dont even remember him siging adrenaline for me.  A few days after the show, I was looked at the cover and saw that he had signed it and I wondered Hmm, when did he do this.  I remember walking over to him when he wasnt surrounded by anyone.  It was all like in slow motion.  And my mouth was moving and I probably said something really dumb.  But all I wanted was a picture. Its really hard to say all the things youve wanted to say to someone when theyre standing right there in front of you.  This was freakin Chino Moreno!  I has wanted to meet him for SOO long and there he was. It was so surreal, but it totally made me realize that people are people.  He wasnt completely untouchable. That was definitely one of the best days of my entire life
November 29th, 2000 was the last day that I got to see Deftones live.  They were suppoesd to do a show in August 2000 with Godsmack at Philips Arena, but the show was cancelled because one of the guys in Godsmack was injured or something. Stupid Godsmack! Who the hell decided that those two bands should tour anyway?  What a dumb idea. I wasnt too excited about having to see Deftones in an Arena, but at least I  wouldve still gotten to see them. But Godsmack ruined it, and now Ive been Deftones-less for over a year.

The official Deftones website, deftones.com  is now gone, and all of their news can now be found on deftonesworldwide.  I think theres a message board on there, but probably nothing as cool as the one on the original page.  Melina and I used to live for responses from Chi on the Deftones board.  We used to ask him all sorts of questions and he'd almost always answer us back.  He's just a cool cat.  Ahh those were the days. Hehe.  I miss all that terribly
