Lauro Zarate Alcala, Sr.
1926-2002

Larry Alcala has made over 500 characters, twenty comic strips, six movies, two murals and 15,000 published pages in his 50 years of cartooning.

A retired Fine Arts professor at the University of the Philippines, Alcala was well aware of the far reaching role of cartoons in education and value formation.

Larry Alcala was born on 18 August 1926 in Daraga, Albay, Philippines and died 24 June 2002 at the age of 75.
