Procedure

In Working Model, the Sun, a simple circle, was placed at the origin on the XY-graph.  It was given the proper mass.  Then, the Earth was created, as another circle, and also given the proper mass, and placed on the X-axis at the proper distance.  Then, the Earth was given the right velocity, but only in the Y-direction, as this is the tangential velocity of the Earth, and therefore should be perpendicular to the force of gravity of the Sun.  Then the simulation was run with the tracking on in order to see the path.  To see what would happen if the Earth was closer to the Sun or further away, but still with the same velocity, the Earth was dragged around the X-axis.  The simulation was run again, with tracking so that the path would be visible.
