An Australian
franchise idea that has finally come to
the States. Their "concept and food
service system" consists of a 75% cooked
meal (meats and fish) that is served to
you piping hot on a super-heated natural
volcanic stone. You can continue to cook
your food to your liking or pull it off
with just the right amount of pink left in
the middle. The stone cooks for up
to 30 minutes and stays warm up to an
hour!I especially like the fact that my
scallops were not tough, and that my
rib eye was juicy and not overdone.
Your entree is served with soup or salad
to start and sides of veggies and dipping. They had a
special on appetizers when we visited:
$2.50 each when you purchase two or more.
The fried oysters and stuffed mushrooms
were excellent, although they could have
picked a little larger 'shroom, or served
up a
couple of extra ones.
The ambience includes lots of colors, a
blue "starry" ceiling,
chair/booth combos and machined steel
wall plates. I got a kick out of the TVs
playing the Food Network. We were
sizing up our meal against what Wolfgang
had going on up on the screen. The staff
is friendly and attentive to your needs.
Highly recommended, but wear something a
little nicer than shorts and a t-shirt,
unless you want the same looks I got from
the other patrons (who should just get a
life)
