Angelina Jolie Voight grew up in Los Angeles and was no stranger to the film industry.Her father, being a world famous actor was always pushing her towards the film indestrury. She studied acting at the Lee Strassberg Institute, and landed her first role as a German dominatrix in her school play 'Room Service.' She got her first Hollywood starring role in the movie 'Hackers'. She played the only female in the group capable of reaching top status in the hacking business. She followed up that initial success with the film 'Foxfire', which is based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates.
She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of the supermodel Gia Carangi who died of AIDS. She received an Emmy nomination as well as a CableAce nomination for her work in the TNT movie 'George Wallace' (co-starring Gary Sinise.) Her role as Cornelia Wallace just snagged her a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress(which she most deffinatly deserved). Her latest award is an academy won for her role as Lisa in last year�s 'Girl, Interrupted' with Winona Ryder. She has trained for 3 months for the part of Lara Croft. A problem that arose with the stunts, is that angie is in fact, left handed! They had to import custom guns for Angie to be able to load a fire with her left hand. Everyone else in the cast had to also be trained to block left handed attacks. Keep in mind that Lara did all of her own stunts in the movie......no stunt doubles at all....amazing huh?
