How to Build Your Own Computer
Parts I Choose and Why
Case - Aero Cool Jet Master Jr. (Black) - $59.00
I choose this case because it looks really neat and has a lot of room for components helping cooling and such.  I also

Performance - 35%
Looks - 40%
Cost - 25%

A case should look good first and perform good next.  This is one of the only components where Looks are more important than Performance
CPU - AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Deigo?? - $368.00
I choose AMD because they use 64-bit arcitecture where Intel uses 32-bit.  This means AMD is better.

Performance - 60%
Looks - 0%
Cost - 40%

Better value ring a bell?
MoBo - Asus A8N-SLI Premium?? - $170.00
I was just going to go for the SLI Deluxe but I read there is a problem with the northbridge fan, where this one uses a heat pipe so no fan. Hooray!

Performance - 50%
Looks - 20%
Cost - 30%

Looks play a role for this one because I have a window in the side of the case
RAM - OCZ (2 X? 1GB)? PC 3200 Platnium - $257.00
This is definitly the best RAM for the money.  It has low latency and max capacity.

Performance - 60%
Looks - 5%
Cost - 35%

Looks don't really matter for RAM but these look pretty damn good.
Video Card - ATI X800XL 256MB GDDR3 PCIe X16 - $283.00
ATI has always been near and dear to my heart. Plus not many game support SLI now, I can always upgrade in the future.

Performance - 60%
Looks - 5%
Cost - 35%
PSU - ??Aero Cool Turbine Power 550W - $106.00
With all these new components you need something with a lot of power, 550W should do it.

Performance - 50%
Looks - 30%
Cost - 20%

Cost does not matter much because PSU's are relitively inexpensive.
Heatsink - Thermal Take Venus 12 80mm - $36.99
Although my CPU comes with a heatsink, it's not as good as this one.  This one moves about three times the air.

Performance - 70%
Looks - 5%
Cost - 25%

These are pretty cheap too.
